Stevenage Loyal - Richard
Views: 1146
Richard, from Wimbledon, a season ticket holder for decades has not been seen at any games, home or away, for the last month or so. Spoken to the Club this morning to see if they can shed some light or perhaps track him down. Chuds will remember his brown briefcase full of £50 notes!
Just a little concern on the ET from the group who stand in the vicinity where he used to stand.
Anyone know anything?
Thanks.

I?m really pleased to say that I?ve received an email back from Loyal Richard. He?s fine and well, but just not been able to attend games recently. However he?s looking to be back in the next few weeks.
Loyal very much appreciated the concern from supporters? ? It was kind, and typical, of Boro supporters to enquire about my welfare?.
Happy days! P

Yay, good news. Must be something to keep him away, he's an absolute legendary fan. Things like this make is what make our club great.

Guy is an absolute Boro' legend, and will be known to almost every fan of ours, whether by name (be that actual or nickname given to him) or just by face.
I wasn't aware he hasn't been seen now I am in the Norf rather than standing near him, but I desperately hope he is okay and it is simply down to train issues getting to us from Wimbledon.

Hi. Just to let you know I?m looking into this so that I can send Loyal an email if we can locate one on record.
I?ll update on here once I know more.

The SLO or the SA may be able to assist or know him?

Thanks for the suggestions. Another supporter has mentioned this to Carol at the SA (not John). So hopefully she will look into it. The SLO is a good idea...I'll drop them an email. Cheers.

I noticed he hasn't been at games home or away recently and meant to mention it actually - not on here, but this is as good a place as any. Hope he's well.

I'm pretty certain it's not the person who posts on here as Stevenageloyal
That's just the nickname for the person telboy is asking about who literally goes everywhere home and away by train. Canvey Island he'd walk from Benfleet station! (as we gave him a lift once when we saw him)

Was baffled once to get on the train back from Tranmere into Liverpool and he was already on it.

I bumped into him at Eastbourne away in 2010. He's been around for every match home and away..he even went to a HSC match in Tring...all by train!
The Club told me they had 30 Richard's with season tickets so it would be difficult to track him down. I then reiterated that he lives in Wimbledon and we would be unlikely to have many Richard's living there. I asked if they could drop him an email to make sure he was ok....they said ring back towards the end of next week.

Is he the guy who always carries the blue plastic bag?

Yes it is possible. He's in his late 60's early 70's, quite tall and always wears brown. Enjoys his own company, walks and uses trains to get him around. Last away game could have been Wycombe. Not sure about the last home game though.

Yeah, I got the train from Derby to London - the type of journey I regularly bump into him on. Also often get the Thameslink back from Stevenage and the same recently, and as you said he hasn't been in his usual spot on the ET.

Respect to our fans who were concerned, to Cruffers our brilliant SLO for going the extra mile to find out whether Richard was OK, and to Richard himself. My first lengthy encounter with him was a PSF away at Newport (Mousinho's debut and I spoke to Moose's dad who was sat just behind me) and there were about 4 Boro fans there, and of course Loyal was one of them.
