and Cuthbert part of a Stevenage team that twice nearly lost its league status, and then went to W*KING who only just avoided relegation from the National League this season. Fills me with confidence that does...

Went from Arsenal, down to QPR, down to Rangers before coming up a level to us.

I’d question why someone who was first team coach at Arsenal has dropped down to this level.

Just hope he doesn't try to get us to play like Arsenal under Wenger. We will become a team that likes to play football and get lots of compliments from opposition and pundits, whilst losing every game.

Edit: let's hope he's a bit like Michael Skubala, especially when he takes over as manager in December.

another Wilkins / Roeder supporting a weak number one, when do we ever learn , you pay for what you get ??

it didn't work out before and i cant see it working again

We need a strong number one Like Evans. Was hoping Phil would have learnt his lesson after last time

Will give Revell till Christmas and the Phil will back track again and then go for experience

Why on earth would Duff and Clarke join us?

Ainsworth? Lol.

Lindsey has no experience in league one which apparently we are all desperate for, the squad would also have to be completely overhauled.

We are Stevenage ffs. We cant just snap our fingers and hire who we like.

I run this place so I can be as annoyingly hypocritical as I wish. You on the other hand better be steadfast in your backing of Revs, otherwise you will be FORCED TO MODERATE AS AMDIN when it gets incredibly tedious

And if they turned us down, which by all accounts two of them did? And another one is about to take his side to Wembley.

It is all good and well saying "let's get X", "Y would have been a far better appointment", but if we tried to do so and failed?

If it was always going to be Revell in PW's eyes, then I am sure he would have been appointed almost immediately rather than it taking weeks. Says to me we tried elsewhere, failed, and decided he is the best option of those who remain.

I seem to recall PW saying after Rev’s last spell in charge that he needed some more experience but would be in his plans for future management when the time was right. Maybe some others have turned us down and PW feels Revs has progressed sufficiently to take us forward (although I’m not at all sure why PW would see this as an appointment that reflects serious ambition to compete).

Why?

We are basically identical clubs.

And they are minutes away from Wembley, and the joys of winning promotion there. And he has already assembled a squad of his own players who are flying and look bloody impressive.

Why would he leave that to join us?

Agree completely.
Lets get on with it...Revs is our manager for whatever reason.
I don't care what others might think.
For all of the negativity on here, I know when it comes to match day we will all get behind Revs and our team.

by which time, in this league, it could well be too late. We've seen in the past how hard it is to bring in decent fresh faces in January.
