I’m currently on Apple family subscription, but I’ve heard Spotify is better.
Any thoughts?

Apple Music is easier to use I’d say. But Spotify let you listen to 15 hours of audiobook a month so that swayed me into changing subscription.

Forgive me for not knowing, but how many hours is an average audio book? Say a classic novel like Jack Reacher or Sharpe?

They're much of a muchness. All streaming services will have similar sized catalogues. I use Apple Music because it's bundled in with my phone contract, but used Spotify for years before that.

I had to spend 45 mins on the phone to Apple today. I’d bought four albums yesterday via my iphone on the music app. This morning, all of them were there and perfectly formatted/track listed on my iMac in the office, but my phone had 6 copies of each album thumbnail. When I tapped on the album thumbnail, I found each one only had between one and five tracks from the album. We didn’t get it fully sorted and I’m probably going to have spend more time sorting it out.
