We turned Andy Cook away when he was supposedly looking for £6k per week. If these figures are anywhere near realistic in League One, £6k seems about right.
It begs the question why did we turn him away?
All speculation I know, if's and buts...it does make you think.

There's no way those figures are in the public domain. Someone has got a rough total wage bill and made the individual wages up.

If this is anywhere near true theres a few players in need of a hefty pay rise looking at the list.

Well if it’s true we’ve saved the best part of 400k as Burns returned to City today

I imagine we pay nothing for Burns assuming he plays x amount of games.
Was the same with Jamie Cumming.
Those wages are a drop in the ocean for Man City

Seems legit. Lol.
Louis Thompson and Kane Smith on the same wage? Where on earth do they pluck these numbers from?

Not convinced how correct that is to be fair. Seeing that if your Pidge your knocking on Wallace’s door with a fair few questions, and he wouldn’t be the only one

Surely the only way they would know individual players' salaries is if the players have told them themselves or someone in the club's payroll department/accountants told them, which seems highly unlikely in all scenarios.
The total wage figure is something that would be more attainable. Using that they've probably then extrapolated/guessed what people are on by piecing together bits and pieces etc. I suspect there quite a bit of margin for error though.

I do wonder where they get this information as it isn't publicly available and not shown in the accounts published at companies house.
The table below shows the wage bill of clubs who did publish figures.
So probably in the right ball-park.
They may know Burns salary from Man City info but I doubt we pay much of that, it'll be Man City who do.

Burns, Pressley, Guiness Walker and any of the loan players will assumably be having their wages subsidised by their home clubs as Sev mentions. Nevertheless It does open your eyes to the cost of running a League One outfit. I don't suppose we get much more than £2m from gate receipts per season. This would leave a great big gap if over £3m is being spent on player wages let alone managers, coaches and ancillary staff.
Not certain how much we recieve from the EFL?

I was listening to a lecture on football finance the other day and the Oxford CEO was speaking. He said they get about £970,000 from the TV deal with Sky but they are League One and we were League Two last year. Their turnover/income was around £8m in total.
Also if they've got that total wage figure from accounts somehow then it would include wages of all staff not just players.
