We've not got super Stevie Evans
He doesn't care what we need
We're tight at the back
Lightweight in attack
Boro's going up the Football League

Ambition

I really hope our next appointment won't be from shopping in non league. Some of the names mentioned have done well in non league, but I'd prefer to get someone in with experience in L1/L2. If our ambition is to challenge for the Championship, like we did this season until the run in, our manager recruitment should reflect it.

An experienced L1/2 manager seems like the obvious route to take. Its not always a match made in heaven though but the knowledge of the players and footballing styles gives this person a great kick start. Whoever we get in might not be able to match our achievements under Evans, who was outstanding. It may take at least a couple of years to get back on track. Look what happened under Tisdale, an experienced league manager. Just shows nothing is guaranteed. PW must find the best match possible. We should try to stay clear of inexperienced managers such as Sheringham, Saarl and dare I say Revell.
I don't envy PW the task he has ahead of him.

Experienced at getting the sack.
Sacked at Boro
Sacked as youth team coach at Watford (bullying alegedly)
Sacked at Yeovil
Sacked at Woking
When he was manager at Boro, he seemed to be on the brink of a nervous breakdown.
I think it came as a complete relief to him when he was sacked.

Also wouldn't want to wait around for several weeks until the end of the NL playoffs given that Barnet are highly likely to make the final.
Same goes for Andy Woodman at Bromley.

They have no right to be. If you finish outside the playoff spots you shouldn't be able to play in them.
Altrincham should be pissed off though. They finish above Solihull and yet they still have to play whilst Solihull do not. Should ve Solihull hosting Halifax whilst Altrincham join Barnet and Bromley in getting a bye.

Not necessarily but it is important that he hits the ground running in his next managerial job to demonstrate it was just a blip (if indeed he gets another).
Rotherham would not have come in for Steve Evans if his stock had been where it was 2-3 years ago (compared to now) even though he'd had past success.

Don't want Garrard as manager. He's football is pure and utterly fucking boring, like it has been past few season at Borehamwood.
Get him in charge at Boro, and that will be 100 steps backwards, and we would only end up in a relegation fight.
As a Borehamwood fan, as well as a Boro fan, today is a bitter pill to swallow.
Thank god one of my supported teams has avoided relegation this season.

No, Nottingham Forest. He attended both European Cup finals in 1979 and 1980. Was a season ticket holder for years, always said to me best goal he ever seen scored at the city ground was the Johnny Metgod free kick in 1986 v West Ham.

I've not seen it mentioned, but seeing as Rotherham paid us compo to take Steve, is it possible we may invest some of that in paying another club some compo to take their manager away too?
I'm sure we're not in a position to throw tons of cash at something like this but with Phil's new investment and what appears to be new hunger to get us into the championship, might we try and prize a manager from somewhere else?
If so, who would you see us a) Being able to afford? b) wanting to go after?
Anyone you'd like us to try and get other than those out of work?
