Actually..

..the position we have found ourselves in must be music to Phil's ears. Did he really think that we were ready for the Championship. Are our current team worthy of promotion? Is our ground good enough to entertain the likely new and existing Championship teams. How deep will his pockets have to go.?
Time for procrastination, time to take stock.
Luton have done well but nothing like good enough- we should take on board the lessons learnt.
I will leave the rest to you all as the where we go from here.
Ciao

I seem to recall from way back that his ambition/dream was to get us to the championship

I’m pretty sure people were saying the same thing toward the end of last season when it looked as though we’d blown the automatics.

There will be more expectation next season to do well than had we gone up. There will still be an expectation that PW puts his hand in his pocket to improve the squad I’d imagine too.
If we’d gone up we’d be making more money too. People are people, the ground is perfectly fine for anyone to watch football in.
Not sure about the Luton bit. They’re doing incredibly well for the size of club and ground they have.

I think you'll find Phil has already put his hand in his very deep pocket.
If he wasn't ambitious he wouldn't have bought £1m worth of shares a few weeks back. An investment he knows he almost certainly won't get back.
That tells me he is serious about improving the squad in the summer.
But there's a limit to his generosity.
I can't see him sticking in the £40-50m we'd probably need to even have half a chance of surviving 2-3 years in the Championship.
