CORRUPT OFFICIALS
Views: 1199
I've seen it all now, never a sending off. So corrupt. Steve Evans is right, they don't want Stevenage promoted. The apology emails need to be published now.
Absolutely disgraceful

Butlers red was absolutely deserved ffs. Evans in the post match said the same.
Give it a rest.

I saw the incident clearly. Butler did deserve a red, but so did the Burton player. That was the beef.

He wasn't.
The ref called Pidge over as he sent Butler off in order to explain to him the decision.

Wow, a photo.
I saw the whole incident play out with my own eyes. He called them over, sent Butler off, then stood for a good while explaining to Pidge the decision.

Don?t fall into the trap of the Evans anti ref offensive.
Evans has been great for us but the last few weeks we?ve been awful.
That?s down to the manager.

Can we please stop singing about how shit the opposition town/ city is unless it's Mansfield !? It's boring.

As a fellow ET exile, I?d say it?s often hard to have the atmosphere as the away end ( directly opposite) always sounds louder than the ET. There has been few games this season though where SE has praised the atmosphere so I assume that if you?re in the West (directly opposite the ET) it?s a lot louder as the sound travels. Either way, the attendance numbers and general feel and support has been great this season.

I?ve sat in the west stand for a very long time and haven?t heard the east terrace make much noise since Dale Cavese was sung consistently and that was at least a decade ago. Not a criticism, but I think the east terrace atmosphere is becoming a bit of a myth.

Saw a bit of the incident with Butler. Their player was clearly trying to stop him making a run down the wing, and Butler to my mid just pushed him away. Yellow card, but never a red. Maybe I missed sometihng

It's not like we were any more effective with 11 men than 10.
Don't know whether the team has just run out of energy or the constant targeting of officials has meant taking an eye off our own standards, but three wins in 16 speaks for itself.

But we couldn't possibly look at our own shortcomings and some of Evans' decisions and our own player performances, going on a lengthy spell (quarter of a season) where we hardly won or scored.
Better to just blame the officials instead who always go against us, like when Butler should have been sent off twice away at Exeter but got away with both. But yeah, they hate us and it is all a conspiracy. 5G, Covid and the FA officials, all out to get us.

For me I don't complain if the lino gives it, but how often at this level, do you see a 4th Official get involved? Obviously that's what should be happening, but they usually do nothing.
Butler is stupid if he did lay into him, especially as we finally had the momentum in the game.
Sadly, it has been this type of game that has, for as long as I can remember, been our undoing. Hence the rise of #Borocharity.
That said, another fantastic season overall, certainly compared to where we were a few years back!

The lino saw what happened, and ran to the 4th to tell him what happened.
They literally followed protocol in reporting the incident.

Re: CORRUPT OFFICIALS

Well, I would hope that any fourth official would get involved if they saw a player elbow or punch another player off the ball, and the fact he did so does suggest he clearly saw it. So if Butler did so, the fourth official was spot on to call the ref over and to get him sent off, and Butler should not have done it.
However, to go against that I did also make the point during the game about how many players who get elbowed or punched don't go down, and the majority of the ground were totally oblivious to the incident, even the aftermath, as nobody went down or made a meal of it. Which does make me wonder whether it was one of the cases where a shirt is being pulled and a player (Butler) swings his arm to escape it, and in this case either the guy doing so thought fair enough he deserved it, or wasn't actually contacted. If that is the case then no wonder the fourth official isn't in the middle and is clearly a fussy twat who was bullied as the shit child he blatantly was :).

I think that's the heart of the debate right there. I guess things like intent are almost impossible to prove though.

It's the chemtrails. It's always the chemtrails.
We had a good half a season.
We are financially sound.
Our ate numbers are consistently up.
We have a good core of 10-12 solid L1 players in the squad.
Maybe the squad wasn't quite good enough to get us promoted but it's good enough to build from.
Let's see how far Wallace backs Evans in the summer.
