I dont get why everyone is so desperate to form some kind of rivalry with Luton? Tbh we aren't even on their Radar and they've got to levels we can only wish to achieve at the moment.
Luton are just another match to me tbh obviously love beating them but only because they're local not because they're rivals.

I don't get it either.
Local derby match but not rivals. Would the same rivalry be said of Watford, St Albans, Bedford or Biggleswade?
We have little history with Luton. I for one would have loved Boro to have achieved what Luton have.
Their fans have been through the mincer over the years I have admiration for them.
Edit:- they do have some scummy fans but sadly so do we!

We've played Luton 11 times since we last played Woking, maybe let our fans aged less than 21 have something they actually remember?

It can’t be a rivalry if 50% of teams involved don’t see it as such. And Luton don’t give a toss about us. A bulk of our fans don’t care about them either.

Totally agree. On another note can see they released Luke Berry, decent player who I hoped had joined us yrs ago Assume totally out of our zone now wages wise.Whats odds he turns up at Rotherham.

Would take Berry to bolster the midfield in a heartbeat but wouldn't be surprised if he gets a Championship gig.

"Arriving from Cambridge United in late August 2017, the former Barnsley man proved a stellar signing in League Two when he got off the mark with a hat-trick in a 7-1 win over Stevenage"...
I was in the Luton end with friends (Luton fans obvs) for that match, absolutely horrific!

Loved listening to 3CR after the match where they were so bigging up Luton about how the other Premiership teams were impressed by Luton's performance and surprised they were relegated.

What I hate about them is that so many people in our catchment (even in Stevenage) support them and not their more local team.

I get that, it is frustrating but things are changing for the better.
None of this is down to Luton or their fans, its down to history.
If a family has supported any team since the 50's and 60's it becomes embedded. This we can't change, I would also guess that a fair proportion of our fans supported other teams before Boro. So slowly, slowly we are becoming the automatic choice for youngsters of our town and surrounding area. As we, the more established supporters encourage the youngsters away from perhaps family ties to other clubs, Boro becomes first choice.
I now marvel at the number of Boro shirts and coats worn around the town which shows Boro now has some street cred equal to the Luton's, Spurs and Arsenal etc.
