In particular Hicks, Evans and Smith look decent prospects, hope not another false dawn though . Hope not jettisoned in the current situation but imo need better loans next season at at least Conference level to progress ?

I'd like to think that they'll be in around the squad if they're good enough. That said, some of the better prospects have been picked up by PL teams before reaching senior football with us.

But at least , with Academy status, we got a few bob.Just read Oldham have lost this now as been out of league for set time and just closed theirs down. This as another club can just poach the players now for zilch

Smith looked sharpe all be it for a few minutes on Saturday and unlucky not to score. Would be good to see a few of the local lads make it with us

Wouldn't it be great to see some of our academy players come through the ranks. Only 1% coming through to professional level is a sobering thought for any youngster wanting to make football their career.
Even at our level, the pressure of our club being successful overides taking chances with the youngsters so how on earth do they get a chance to shine?
