The Front Line

What a difference it makes to the whole team, when we have a striker or strikers who willing to challenge for the ball, hold it up, step in front of the defender to receive the ball, make useful runs, rather than just running into defenders hoping to get a free kick. a front man who is willing to run past his own midfielders in an attempt to win a ball back even if he's not the one that lost it.
It must fill the whole team with more confidence.
People doubted the Magennis signing, but from what i have seen so far seems to be working pretty well, Mellon looked good last night too and they worked well together too

Magennis was a seriously underwhelming signing. A cheap past it journeyman who was just a hig lump to hit long balls towards and hope for the best.

Whoever recruited him needs shooting.

Hes been our best signing. Not our best technical player, but our best signing. The other forward players cant help but learn from his attitude and experience.

I think now he's settled, TVC was a huge coup as well. Crazy to see the back four from the beginning of our L2 promotion season back together in top half L1.

from where i sit, which is level with the edge of the penalty area, towards the away end, the amount of times he just makes a nuisance of himself, just sticking his head in to try and win the ball at the last minute or chasing down a lost cause, the talking he does encouraging people to close balls down, as you say players cant help but learn from him.

I think the fact that he was seen as such an underwhelming signing has really magnified just how much he brings to the team.

Imagine if we’d had him last season. And also, how shit must Exeter be, he was wasted there.
