BBC News - Oxford United apologises for United 93 shirt advert - BBC News

The fact they managed to do this on the 11th of September is incredible. Probably most Brits wouldn't spot the reference but if you're like me and you've listened to podcasts about what went down it stands out like a sore thumb.

A load of fuss over nothing. People get so easily offended these days. I’ve heard that a pop star was recently thrown off a tour because he used non-threatening words asking for peace and love.

No one’s really offended. It’s just a stupid fucking thing to do on 9/11

Clearly, somebody is offended, hence the ensuing moral panic and apology from the club.

They should have just gone for it though and released a Ghislaine Maxwell memorial shirt in honour of their former director.

Really, now we know Oxford did 9/11, it's the peoples of the Middle East they ought to be apologising too.

"What went down"

Unfortunate turn of phrase.

See how easy it is to fuck up ;)

First you have to understand what was up, and then what went down.

The grand old Duke of York is a great reference point here.

The old Duke of York is now down, no longer either up or grand.
