Presented without any judgement and just stating how he has done, as people seemingly either like him, or just go quiet and don't bother posting at all when we do well, until we hit a rocky patch and they then appear again to say he should be sacked.
Today was his 100th regular season match in charge in League One and 50th at home on League One.
P100 W39 D28 L33 145pts. 1.45PPG.
At home:
P50 W25 D13 L12 88pts. 1.76PPG.

How do his stats currently compare to previous managers? At what point does he become our most successful of all time?

Westley spell 2 V Revs spell 2 (so far) win %
53.3% & 39.5%
Westley obv Conf/League 2 so not a like for like comparison, but still a wide margin.

Yeah, this is the problem, it simply is not comparable.
Playing against sides like Grays or Accrington for us cannot be compared to playing against sides like Wrexham, Birmingham and Cardiff, who absolutely dwarf us in every measure.

yep.
were we a big fish in the Conference? My impression was that we were, relatively, albeit Luton and Oxford were bigger and better resourced

There were only a handful you would consider bigger than us, and not by a crazy extent, whereas now it is about 20 clubs in the division we play who are bigger than us and about ten of them being considerably so.
It does very much hammer home how far we have come, which is great, but I do not personally believe a comparison can be made, and any comparisons really need making against other seasons in the same division.

Just looked at the final table. plenty of clubs as big or bigger than us.
Mansfield
Cambridge
Oxford
Luton
Even York around that time were well supported and financed and Crawley were throwing cash around like confetti.
No comparison to the big clubs we've battled in L1 in terms of level of resource.

Since it had a revamp, has Boroguide permanently lost the ability to view the individual matches a player appeared in from their profile page?

Will restore it over the weekend.

He is never going to deliver swashbuckling Keeganesque style of play as his 'identity'.
There are definitely more exciting managers out there.
But he can clearly work with his coaches to build a team with fairly limited resources and make that team resolute and bloody hard to beat.
We dont score enough goals and we aren't great away from home a lot of the time. He is risk-averse, sometimes fails to make a needed change in-game and is too loyal to some players who deserve dropping. .
But sometimes he can deliver very entertaining winning football. Alongside some dull uninspiring dross. Like most lower league managers.
And those stats are fine. We've had a lot worse. Have we had better averages in the league, probably only once or twice?

I would also say that is unfair now he has the players to do so.
Playing some nice stuff, looking to attack constantly, scored seven goals in two games and 11 scored in six overall.
We really aren't bad away under him either, and are unbeaten this season away so far.

is it unfair?
Look at his overall record. It's far too early to say we are now an expansive attacking side. The signs are promising tho' granted.
Do you think that will be his sustained approach? When we hit a bad patch?
I'm relatively sure he will revert to his previous safety first approach a fair bit. It is in his nature as a coach and tactician, altho' I accept his player recruitment and tactics so far this season have been more promising in terms of style.
I'd love you to be right and for us to try and win every game rather than try not to lose a lot of them. But the evidence isn't there yet to be removed sure of that.
This isnt a criticism of how we play, our budget means we have to be pragmatic at times, to kill opposition attacking threats, and it can be a dull spectacle, but it still takes a lot of coaching, effort and skill to deliver.
Let's review in November.

Yes.
I look at our attacking options now versus before, and I see the players and Revs at FT, and the interviews, and I believe for the first time he believes we have recruited in a manner that allows us to be more attacking (quite possibly as directed by our board to try to help crowds).
I also note in his post-match interviews after yesterday and the 2-2 with Donny, how he was beaming when he commented after both games how it was a match where both sides went all out to win the game. I think he is relishing that he/we can now do that.
I honestly think our previous options massively held us back, and it was easy to make excuses for them about there not being the service, when they could have massively helped with that. Now we have better options from an attacking perspective, we are seeing us create and score.
I am aware I am harping on about it, but the difference to us as an attacking threat since Magennis replaced Reid is absolute night and day. And not even just on the pitch. If you haven't listened to Magennis' interview last night, do so. An absolute breath of fresh air off the pitch as well as on it, you can tell how much he is enjoying himself anyway, but in his interview he genuinely said "I am absolutely loving my time at Stevenage Football Club", which is clearly not just something he said to please fans, but he clearly means. He also said he has never known accountability like what our squad has at any other club. And said Revs told him when he signed that he needs to just get in positions to score and it is up to Revs/the other players to find him. I really do get the impression he wishes this current situation came about earlier in his career!

On this I could not agree more.
Magennis needs ro be kept in the building after he hangs his boots up too. Managerial potential I think.
3 weeks ago you (not just you) feared for us this season
The world is a better place when we are all glass half full eh.

There is a difference between having a positive slant and having unfounded blind optimism.
Those fears, prior to the influx of fresh blood, were all presented with detailed justification as to the reasoning for them.
Two matches also does not mean this is the new us, but it's a bloody enjoyable and exciting start. Such a shame the crowd was nowhere near capacity yesterday, for various reasons.

There's been a notable step up in our attacking threat and willingness/ability to put the opposition on the back foot so far IMO. I've enjoyed the last few games far more than most in the past few seasons, and we look a lot more likely to score goals than we have done under Revs before.
The new players are certainly a key part of that (as is the departure of Reid which has clearly given the midfielders the confidence that the ball won't come immediately back when it goes forward), but so are Revs' tweaks to our tactics - he deserves a huge amount of praise for last night in particular and for outthinking Wilshere and Powell. You know it's stung them by their reaction in the press.
Been really impressed by the new players' ability to hit the ground running, especially Sanderson and Magennis, but also by the improvement in Roberts so far. It's still early, and maybe he needed Reid to go too, but I can't remember him playing well in back-to-back matches since we were in L2. Have to hope he's not injured now that he has hit a good patch.
It's unfair to pick anyone out from last night though, as everyone was good and nobody was less than a 7/10. Crap refereeing aside, we deserved to win. Up the Boro

I didn't see anything from Broggio in his debut at Peterborough, but thought he was fantastic yesterday.
Sanderson looks a serious talent, and I am already slightly concerned how long we will be able to hold on to him if he keeps it up.
I hold my hands up, I was thoroughly unimpressed by the signing of Magennis, but he has been immense, and seems a great guy to have around too.
I am aware this may be getting a tad carried away, but this may well have been one of our best ever, and most needed, transfer windows. I have gone from (understandably) expecting a long and horrible season, to now enjoying and looking forward to games, thanks to the fresh bodies we have brought in, and what they all bring.

The squad was always coming to a bit of a step-change given the age through the team, particularly across our front three. We've also played to press from the front and it was clear we would not sustain that over 60 minutes let alone 90.
Last night was my first game of the season I was able to get to but I was encouraged by the energy, particularly from Magennis. To have strength and some degree of pace up top really discourages team to send everything forwards.
Luton were always going to dominate possession - they're clearly a strong ball-playing team - but we were able to keep pressing until Mellon came on, and I'm not sure if that was a tactical decision at that point of the game.
We do have limited resources but I think this window has shown the club knows what it needs to do to maintain our performance. Our we living outside of our means? Time will tell, but Rev's will always adopt a pragmatic approach to games.
Last season was clearly a setup for this season. We weren't ready to overhaul our attack because we had a bloated squad of injuries + fringe players. A lot of that has gone and has coincided with a lot of new blood up top which looks to be paying off.

He's produced good enough results over a long enough term with a diverse enough set of players that I now feel comfortable to say he's a decent EFL manager and would merit consideration away from the comfort zone of our setup.
Thankfully there aren't really any clubs with a similar enough profile to want him that would be a better option for him.

Was just thinking the same. We're really in the sweet spot for him as most 'bigger' clubs would baulk at his scoring record, and he seems to have a real attachment to us, understandably.
As said above, the test will come if we hit a bad patch, but we don't really have the squad anymore to play as defensively as we have in the past. With the number of strikers/attacking players it seems like we will be going for it more.
