And that was against a team in the Championship last season.
With a lot of players who haven't been here long.
It's coming together slowly.

I really do feel we are very close to clicking.
Disappointing to not win any of our matches against Burton, Donny and Peterborough (Burton and Posh both looked particularly poor offensively), but you do need to take into account that SEVEN players who played for us tonight weren't here last season, with many of them having only just signed and not even had pre-season with us. It will take time.
I am pretty happy with what we have now, and how we are approaching games.

Were you watching at Burton? They were the best team we've played this year IMO. You may still be right that we'll struggle a bit this season, but it promises to be a lot easier on the eye. If you want to cheer yourself up watch Broggio's performances in the Scottish Prem on Youtube. We may just be moving to a team that tries to win by scoring more goals than the opposition rather than conceding fewer (if you get what I mean).

Re: Peterborough prediction

Exactly. Marschall had many clean sheet last season the same. The "clean sheet" is the work of the defence (and sometimes the whole team) not just the goalkeeper and sometimes the goalkeeper is irrelevant.
Some goalkeepers do contribute a significant number points a season, Raya at Arsenal for example, but Marschall I can only recall one game where he solely kept us in it.
So whilst you don't want a calamity in goal, keepers at this level are pretty replaceable.

Decent half. Love TVC running out with the ball.
Freestone needs help. Their winger is absolutely rapid.
Unconvincing performance again from Kemp sadly.

Re: Peterborough prediction

Shaky at the back but think there’s potential with this shape if we can tighten up. Looks to be potential to carve out chances going forward.
Kemp overplaying that chance at the end of the half is par for the course, wasn’t switched on when Magennis put a great ball in for him once, marked out the second time. As a team we’ve not put Magennis through two or three times also which is very frustrating.
Persistence could be the key with this style of play/bulk of the line up. Tighten up a little at the back, not be afraid to play the ball quickly going forward.

Downside is TvC keeps giving the ball away (either by being tackled or misplacing a pass) in dangerous positions every game. Luckily it hasn't cost us so far today.
Taylor looks a lot better today.
I really do like the look of Sanderson.
Kemp really should have scored at least once, if not twice.

Odd playing Kemp central and high and playing an actual striker wide right. Square peg round hole.
Taylor looks a bit out of his depth for me. not bad, but a bit behind play.
And we are gifting them too much space in the middle of our box from low crosses. Lucky to have not faced a shot on target. They are, as has been said, rapid on the counter.
Look good up top rho' Phoenix doing his best to get another assist.
Revs should be happy with that 45 tho'

Arguably it’s too early to know who is and isn’t decent.
We’re a work in progress I’d say. The signs are there that we may be trying to play a little more expansively, we absolutely cannot jeopardise our defensive qualities for that though. Winning teams are built from the back forward.
There’s probably been a little more upheaval than anticipated in this window but hopefully the signings are conducive to an improved team (long term, we’d do well to top last season position wise) and maybe even some better looking football to boot.

If we don't announce the fee then fans won't know why we've done it, just looks like selling our best assets as soon as a bid comes in.
Which tbh, is something we've always done anyway, but you can't have a go at people questioning it if we dont give context

Think it’s one of those where a little reading between the lines goes a long way. Deadline day move to a much bigger club in the league above, we almost always put in add ons in our favour and don’t just let our best assets walk away (when under contract at least). Of course we’re getting a good deal and that’s why it’s happening.
Understand what you’re saying but a step back and some consideration and it all makes perfect sense, even without being spelled out by the club.

There's no way Marschall makes the difference between staying up and going down. Unless his replacement is absolute garbage. But it shouldn't be that hard to find a keeper who can catch crosses and make saves. Bonus if he can kick the ball in play.

Well it may be coincidence but certainly there was fewer tonight. I liked Roberts’s perfectly launched run onto that arching pass in the second half, all of which was absolutely perfect right up to the moment he tripped over the ball with only the keeper to beat. Thought Sanderson was great, a real addition to the team, and Dan Phillips’ workrate and never say die attitude in some of those difficult tackles paid off as he came away with the ball each time. The big issue for me is that Peterborough’s finishing was thankfully woeful, but we were lucky in that regard. If we let teams into our area like that time and again, we’ll get punished. They created chance after chance and attacked with speed and intent, it was purely because of a failure to hit a barn door with a banjo situation that we got away with it. I wouldn’t recommend we allow that again.
