Transfer Deadline Day

By FBIRD (FBIRD20005)1/9 07:34Tue Sep 1 07:34:38 2026

Great way to start the day - the wall have agreed a deal for Marschall, having a medical today. They have sold one of their players for 15 million so hopefully a good fee agreed for us with some bonuses.

As for incomings we now need a number 1, a centre half, a midfielder who can actually pass the ball and potentially a young striker on loan. Leon will be very busy today let’s hope we can get a result away at Posh tonight and kick on

Seems like Freestone will be lb for the foreseeable then....

Clearly doesn't want to play Saxon there and Butler deemed surplus to requirements.

I’m not keen on this. I thought Dan was superb against Reading, driving forward with power and aggression time and again and delivering some superb crosses into the box. I thought he was ‘back’ and was looking forward to seeing him play.

Yeah and Revs was singing praises after this, perhaps the new salary rules also come in the play in allowing the loan in we had to balance the books.

Don't think that would've been a problem after selling Marschall. More likely he wants more game time in order to get another EFL contract next season (which is completely reasonable).

I'd imagine knowing he was down the pecking order he was pushing for the move more than Revs was.

Most exciting one we've had.

Got rid of some deadwood, sold a player that isn't a game changer for a record fee.

Signed some exciting prospects on loan and on permanents.

Buzzing for the new era, survive this year and push on.

I FUCKING BROKE THIS STORY. I AM ITK!

Talks are ongoing with various clubs for Setford, but Stevenage are currently the front-runners. Their current first-choice goalkeeper is in talks to join Millwall, so there's a potential opening for Setford to step in.

The report also points out that Las Palmas had previously shown an interest in Setford, but those negotiations stalled.

When Meslier was signed, the suggestion was that his arrival was to facilitate a loan move for Setford. The young goalkeeper worked hard alongside Raya and Kepa in training last year, but his opportunities on the pitch were slim to non-existent.

The youngster came on as a substitute for Arsenal against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup, playing the final few minutes of the 4-0 win. Other than that, his appearances were limited for a handful of u21 showings for Arsenal and England.

The goalkeeper was signed for his potential, but he's unlikely to achieve it if he can't get out on the pitch and test himself. Hence Arsenal's push to get him a good loan move.

It looks like Stevenage are hoping to be the club to give Setford a proper opportunity in senior football this season.

Two loans last season. Started the season with Swansea. Played 8 times starting 3. Then Orient in Jan, playing 16 times and starting 9.

It's probs a loan deal, but he's OOC in the summer so you never know.

Nope not made up, there was a float Goalkeeper, if you started of with rush keeper, sometimes if they got caught up field, you used shout float goalkeeper and you flew through the air making a Gordon Banks type save, which usually ended ended up in an argument and somebody going home with THEIR ball

But rush goalkeeper was a thing

Lukas Jensen their no.1 out for a good while apparently.

Wonder if Marschall is going as no.1 or back up? They have another senior keeper plus 2 younger ones on the books already.

He'll be going in as Number 1 while Jensen is out.

Think Murphy Cooper vs Taye.
