We played some very nice stuff in patches. Dominated and controlled the whole first half.
Revs was about to make an attacking change when we scored (and was about to make changes when they scored too) and I was very confident we would see it out as we actually looked solid at the back today.
Then they scored from a shot through bodies from 20 yards, where Marschall was either unsighted or just slow to react yet again (a common theme), then a header from a corner minutes later.
Good spirit from us again to salvage a point, but definitely feels like 2pts dropped today, however the weather was insane so hard to judge that second half as it could easily have been stopped because the ball was not running at all, and water was splashing up everywhere when players ran!
I am feeling we may score more goals now though. Sanderson, Mellon and Magennis all look like very good signings. They look keen, they make dangerous and intelligent runs, they get infront of the defender to the ball (brilliant run and header from Sanderson). They are all the opposite of Reid, who has frustrated us with his attitude and lack of motivation for ages, and has been defended for getting "no service", yet the others are showing that if you actually move and make runs rather than just jogging alongside your marker or throwing yourself to the floor, the ball will find you.
Thought TvC looked a lot more like the player we know today too, no doubt helped by playing alongside Luther (and Pidge) again, who he knows so well. Yet we still conceded twice, and we really need to sort ourselves out defensively to take advantage of potentially scoring more goals.
But despite feeling it is two points dropped today, I am a lot more confident going forwards than I was pre-match.

Quite enjoyed that. got a bit Whacky Races second half with the standing water - looked dangerous at times down in rhe NW corner, but we pushed and pushed and went for it.
We showed we wanted to win.
Really cant fault the effort from anyone.
Draw probably a fair result.
2 assists from Phoenix and 2 strikers scoring.
Even Roberts was decent.

Actually thought game may have been a been abandoned. we tried to play footy in it, they used brit pressure.Not complaining, just glad we got through and no.injuriies.

Not sure what I think of that match! An improvement on last week, certainly. Nicking a late equaliser is always a good indicator that the belief is in the squad. 2 (TWO) goals from a team that can't score is nice too

Disagree, conditions were awful but we have to beat a side as poor as Doncaster at home. Sat off them once we scored and paid for it.

I said on here after the Reading game that, (without any overly-dramatic intention), the Doncaster game would likely define our season. Lose and I would see us in a relegation scrap come May, draw and we’d be in for a poor but probably safe finish and winning might just bring some confidence back. I haven’t really altered that opinion, (other than to be quietly impressed by all the new signings so far that I accept might lead to an improvement in performance over time).

I'm a big fan of his but Phillips was awful today, gave the ball away several times when easy options were available in both halfs. Wildin wasn't at his best either, but on the plus side, a battling performance and goals from two (!) strikers in terrible conditions , particularly as it went on. Still think we need another winger, and a ball player in the middle, and I'm hoping the shift to 4 at the back is a permanent one as we look far more dangerous than with a 5

Date I say it but Dan Phillips is overrated. Does a lot of running and is very good at the stuff he is good at but he’s also quite scatty and liable to a head rush, be that the one he had at Bolton last season or playing a hospital pass or two.
I don’t trust him as one of our “defensive midfielders” for that reason. I’d play him more advanced where the mistakes aren’t as much of a concern and we’d benefit from his intensity in the press. That would mean usurping Kemp though and that won’t happen rightly or wrongly.
For the record overrated doesn’t mean I think he’s bad, just not as good as some believe. He’s a run of the mill League One midfielder.

I'm a big Dan Phillips fan but he has been poor of late.
I agree that he shouldn't be put in a position where we can't afford him to make a mistake. He isn't the kind of player I want receiving the ball in our half facing his own goal. It is good to see someone comfortable enough to do so, but he often gets himself into difficulty trying to turn so I'd rather we had a proper DM who is more aware of his surroundings and can play out of those situations.
There is definitely a place in this team for a player like Dan Phillips but he isn't being utilised in a way that plays to his strengths. We have different profiles and a number of options in midfield that I feel we need to use more effectively. Louis T and Dan P as the 2 in midfield isn't really working at the moment

Roberts and Phoenix have worked really hard to get balls in.
Roberts probably our best player first half.
Dan P given it away a bit. Luther playing a lot of safe backward balls to TVC.
Saxon on for Freestone for me. And Kemp off for a second striker by 55 minutes if we havent scored.

Not at all. I’d be picking Saxon if I was in the dugout but I also appreciate the reasons behind Freestone playing there. Both for the sake of the match and the more long term reasons.
The real surprise is that people are surprised by the line up and style of play we employ every single week.
