Is it safe to come out yet?

Have we all calmed down?

There are some positives this season.

Taylor at RCB isn't out of his depth so we have another option.

Magennis looks decent and fit.

Phoenix has shown he can deliver crosses.

Sanderson and Mellon give us new options and competition up top. One of them at least should be a good find.

Yes the club comms have gone downhill and we haven't exactly gelled as a team yet. Hopefully it'll come good. We have played pragmatic football for years, played to the strengths of the players we can attract and afford, rather than free-flowing open football. And we've largely done OK.

Anyone seriously thinking about binning the project this early needs a check-up from the neck-up. Let's see where we are in November.

I think it's far too early in the season for anything drastic, we need to give the team time to gel, but I have definitely downgraded my expectations based on recent results.

Over the last couple of years, I think some of our fans have had very high expectations that we should be competing at the top end of the league, so maybe collectively lowering our expectations will take the pressure off a bit. A mid table finish might be seen as a success rather than a failure...

A couple of wins would bring some much needed positivity back, so keeping my fingers crossed for the weekend.

Without being defeatist for as long as we are a League One club I think as fans we need to set our expectation level at don’t get relegated and work from there. That doesn’t mean seasons like last season aren’t possible, it doesn’t mean being happy to not go down, it’s just about being realistic about the size of club we are compared to those we come up against.

Past performance doesn’t indicate future results. Those who expected another play-off campaign or a title tilt this time around are deluded.

Agree, but we really need in short term to get LJW or Pattenden back plus Campbell around as another winger option.
PS transfer deadline on Tuesday.Assume Malcolm and Brown will go on loan ,not sure if we need any incomings ?

Forgot all about Chem. Here's hoping he's back sooner rather than later!

He said a couple of weeks at the open training session, but it feels like he was a couple of weeks away from returning at the end of last season so not entirely sure. We definitely need him back though, we basically have him and Phoenix who can run past people and cross properly

We always need new / better players.

Doubt we can afford any under new spending rules. we'd need to offload I guess.

And we do have
2 GK,
2 LB,
2 RB,
4 CB,
4 strikers,
3 wingers
And a variety of flexible midfield options.

All first-team ready, albeit of varying quality and experience, plus other fringe/youth options, as you would expect.
