And it looks.like we might have to given Revs latest moan about being consistently outbid... do we go for a right footed CB or a striker.

Most fans want more goals over more clean sheets which is entirely understandable.

For me we will get more return on our investment (assuming we spend the same money on either), from a RCB. loads of variables and unknows obviously.

Without a good back line we could go down, even with a good striker.

A decent striker wont win us promotion if the defence is suspect.

Survival is target no.1. And must always be when you're a small fish in a big pond.

I don't think one player is what makes our defence good. It's how we set up as a team that makes us defensively good.

Obviously you need a certain standard, you can't have Hughes and McCoombe , but if you have an exceptional RCB and the rest of the team are gun-ho then we'll still concede.

Our defence has had various personnel over the last few years but the end result is pretty much the same because of how we play.

So I'd buy a goalscorer/exceptional finisher who can take the one chance we create each game :)

I don't think one player is what makes our defence good. It's how we set up as a team that makes us defensively good.

But conversely if we have a good GK, RWB, 2 solid lefty CBs and a LWB we could ruin it all by having a RCB with Ben Nugent's 50p head, Fil Morais temperament and Bruno Andrade's football intelligence*
