And it looks.like we might have to given Revs latest moan about being consistently outbid... do we go for a right footed CB or a striker.
Most fans want more goals over more clean sheets which is entirely understandable.
For me we will get more return on our investment (assuming we spend the same money on either), from a RCB. loads of variables and unknows obviously.
Without a good back line we could go down, even with a good striker.
A decent striker wont win us promotion if the defence is suspect.
Survival is target no.1. And must always be when you're a small fish in a big pond.

We desperately need at least one right sided CB. Probably two. Luther is wasted playing there, and it's not natural for him. Would love a good striker but that's the position that costs the most. If we keep it tight in games we always have a chance.

Goode at his best arguably was better than TVC but TVC has the pace advantage.
TVC could also drop in at FRB (and even played CDM a bit here, altho' I never thought he did it that well he was OK).

If it's just one player, a striker is pointless as they'll get no service anyway.
A CM or winger that can provide something going forward is needed as is a right footed CB

I would definitely prioritise someone with a lot of pace. That's one thing I think is key for a good attack and been lacking for us for years. Probably wasted though in a Revs team.

I don't think one player is what makes our defence good. It's how we set up as a team that makes us defensively good.
Obviously you need a certain standard, you can't have Hughes and McCoombe , but if you have an exceptional RCB and the rest of the team are gun-ho then we'll still concede.
Our defence has had various personnel over the last few years but the end result is pretty much the same because of how we play.
So I'd buy a goalscorer/exceptional finisher who can take the one chance we create each game :)

But conversely if we have a good GK, RWB, 2 solid lefty CBs and a LWB we could ruin it all by having a RCB with Ben Nugent's 50p head, Fil Morais temperament and Bruno Andrade's football intelligence*

A Cozier-Duberry type. Fast but controlled. Creative, end product. Have said it for most of the last year, if we were quicker and better in transition we’d score a lot more goals.
