Does anyone know if tonight's game has an audio stream of coverage? I have a season pass for IFollow audio, very good value at £45 for all games, but this one doesn't seem to be covered.
Seems to be very low key comms from the club considering how close to the start of the season we are.

Sure you're fishing, but think you'll find they got relegated and are now only one league above us, but it was a bit like watching Woking against prime Real Madrid.

I've not seen any of preseason, but how did Pidge look? Can't help feeling towards the end of last season he was past it, but could have just been mentality and physically exhausted.
Personally I'd have been tempted to cash in on him.
Jesus, just seen the highlights. What have they been doing in that warm weather training? All look so slow in both pace and reaction speed.
It's going to be a long, long season.

Our cup final was the Wigan game to make the play-offs.
Although i'm a little concerned with the lack of signings, you can't suggest it'll be a long season after two pre-season fixtures.

Really, what is to cash in on Pidge at his age? We lost 2 RCB already and we would now be looking at losing our captain a LCB. Think things would be a tad worse than everybody is getting excited about now after the second PSF .

I agree. There's much more to Pidge's than just how he plays. A proper captain is invaluable. He never had any pace to lose, so no issues there

He had a brief period where he struggled after his injury. By the end of the season he looked back to himself again.
He has never been the quickest, certain strikers will hurt him, but losing Pidge would hit us harder than anybody else (right now, I might suggest if there is one player I would least like to lose now, for the next few years, it is Freestone).

I bumped into Freestone in St Albans once. Top bloke. He admires Pidge and his work ethic (after I said I see a lot of Pidge in Freestone).
With our aging squad I can see Freestone stepping up for the armband once/if he succeeds Pidge at left CB.

Sadly there will be some who will put Pidge squarely at fault for Phillips passing him a suicide ball in the first leg of the Stockport tie and a ball deflecting in off him in the second and therefore write him off.
The bloke drives the culture, leads the team and is the ultimate professional. Might not be at his peak, don’t get me wrong, but we should be trying to keep him in the building at all costs.

On the up side, QPR put five past us last season too, and we went on to do great.
But that was much earlier during the pre-season preparations. West Ham are a much better side than QPR though, although as I said, the second half was West Ham U21.
Yesterday in isolation is fine, but when I already have concerns, yesterday simply further added to them/backed them up.
At least we will have made good money from yesterday, and the players had a proper run out and test. It isn't all bad.

Do we know what the attendance was yesterday, it looked fairly busy on what I can see. It looks like the pre-season fixtures are designed to increase revenue in addition to the player preparation.

I also worry about this - feel like we definitely need someone with more experience on the coaching staff and not be reliant on two guys who are - relatively - new in their roles. Another CB and an attacking player need to be the priority though.
And I know someone said he was at the game last night, but is Campbell injured? He had a back problem at the end of the season but I'm sure Revs said he was close to appearing in the playoff semi second leg at the time. If he's not featured and didn't travel to Spain it suggests he's not recovered yet...?

Cuthbert is now #2, but they are intending to bring in another coach. Not an assistant as that is now Cuthbert, and will remain so, but another coach to work alongside them both.
Campbell is injured but was there yesterday and is expected back again shortly.

a calm pair of eyes who can study the opposition and on matchday sit in the stand for 45 minutes or an hour to work out how to tweak things and then explain it quickly and simply is invaluable.
It's hard to have that dispassionate objectivity from the touchline.
It's more than analysis, its an experienced tactician that is needed. But they dont have to be a good coach, manager or motivator. should be plenty of them out there.

Plenty of tactical experts on here who know exactly what is needed week in week out.
They could use a Borochatter on a rotation basis so we all get a go.
Edit: Anyway it was only a PSF. where we cant play our physical game because the unwritten rule is not to tackle hard, not to outmuscle and to play nice.
which absolutely suits a ball playing technically good team.
I'd wager if we played WHUFC in a competitive match we'd probanly still lose but it'd be way closer.

Only pre-season, don't overreact, but what I have seen from us has in no way allayed my previous comments and concerns. I don't see us being as solid as we were last season and see us scoring even fewer goals.
Edit: And whilst they started with a very strong side, their side second half was Areola plus the U21s. We conceded three times to them, with shocking defending.
