Cambridge Away

Moved forward to the Friday night.
Believe I suggested this would happen at fixture release time as they do it every season if they have a home game on the final Satdi before Christmas, to avoid clashing with the shopping.

Neil Metcalfe is also reporting that it will not be on TV, this is at Cambridge's request. I can't see where he got that information as it was not mentioned in either our or Cambridge announcements, but i expect Neil is correct on this.

He wouldn't have a clue beyond anybody else.
What he will have meant is it wasn't moved for TV.
It can now be shown on TV, if Cambridge agree to it, but isn't guaranteed to be. I suspect it will be as their Friday evening game last season was.

Because that is how it works.
Every game that is not at 3pm on a Satdi is not automatically shown if rearranged, which is why plenty of them are not.
Unless it was originally scheduled to be midweek (or within the other criteria such as international break or BH), or it is Sky who selects it to be moved for live coverage, then the home club has to give permission for it to be aired.
That is why our rearranged matches are not always shown, even when not 3pm Satdi, because we say no. Rotherham on the Sunday afternoon a couple of seasons ago, for instance, we said no.

Something they have done for a few seasons as they get a bigger crowd and they like the extra days rest before the Christmas schedule. Prime Xmas party night tho

It would have been a sellout against us whether we play them Saturday afternoon or Friday night.
Old bill have got it switched, 1500 boro fans swarming into Tarquin country on any Saturday morning is a sight to behold let alone the Saturday before xmas.
Was it pre covid we last played them away on a Saturday afternoon?

Sell out? Don’t remember ever selling the allocation out. Was there at the last league away game and we took about 600 in the Habbin terrace. The season before was a few more really early in August, but not a sell out.
Late 1997 FA Cup 2nd round (?) was a bit packed in their tiny away end

Nothing to do with the police, Cambridge move it every season regardless of who they play.
