BBC says Jordan Roberts released.

That is honestly so bad, have they got AI doing it? Is 'Mathaeus' his nickname?

The use of the word "released" is misleading.
Likely one or two were offered extensions and turned them down because they want consistent minutes. I would assume Taye and Sweeney fall into this category.
Would be surprised if we hadn't offered Matt Phillips an extension too - would assume he's on the lookout for a stronger attacking side.

Yeah. The term "under contract for 2026/27" is also being interpreted as definitely staying by some.
We already knew those one were all under contract. Just means we get money when they leave (or have to pay them off if we want to get rid of). So will still be a few changes to come I expect.

Well yeah. The "under contract" absolutely doesn't mean some of them are playing here next season. Phillips probably gets sold to the Champ and I fear that Marschall might follow.

Sell them all and bring in players who can take us to The Championship. Huzzah!

Buy up regulars from whoever is deemed surplus to requirements from Lincoln (who I think retained all of their players!), Cardiff and Stockport or Bolton.

I'd probably take Wootton, Barry, Norwood, Cozier-Duberry, Ruben Colwill, Ng, Bradley and Maybe Tolaj from Plymuff if they'll join us for a packet of Crisps and some paid digs at the Cromwell

Would've kept Matt Phillips for another year but not surprised otherwise.
Sweeney and Taye would have been fine to retain as squad players but understandable if they want more first team football. Feel like Sweeney will end up at Barnet.

I would imagine that several of these (Taye, Sweeney, Phillips) have chosen to move on, rather than the club opting to release them..

Im guessing Matt Phillips was on a decent wage.
And if he doesn't get a better offer and we have budget left it wouldn't surprise me to see him get a half season deal offer from Revell.

A little surprised to see Bez, Tyreece and Phillips all on here, even if their impact was pretty minimal. Phillips a frustrating one because it felt like he had a lot to offer a team that gave even the slightest fuck about possession.

I've seen a lot of Tyreece love on him recently, and i'm honestly shocked.
He was a trier but overall not up to our standard.

One of those whose reputation grows the longer he is absent.
He is still fairly young though and offered strength and pace which we lack so would have given him another season to see how he developed. As others say attitude was good.
Be interesting to see what he does from here. Suspect League 2 would be his ceiling at the moment.

I think where Revs needs bodies to fill squad spots he'd rather have a 100% trier than a 30% genius.

No surprises there.
Glad Dan Phillips has that extra year after all.
Good luck to all those released, especially Sweens and Taye.
I'd probably place a few of those under contract on the transfer list mind you

Yes sad about Sweeney, he has been brilliant over the years for us.
Does it strike anyone that our Squad is now looking a bit older... We will definitely need an injection of youth with pace over the summer....

No.
From interviews earlier in the year it seems Sweeney was offered terms so I take from that he's chosen to leave, presumably due to lack of first team action. Whereas White and Goode are at least still in discussions (i.e. waiting to see what other offers they get before they confirm they'll leave 🤣)

On White, I hope he only goes to a Championship club or to a much bigger club in League One if he leaves (basically I’ll be pissed off if he goes to Luton as has been suggested). Still hopeful he’ll stay here, this is the only club that has allowed him time to play games and grow, developing into the player he is now and I suspect he’ll be a leading player at this level next term. Would be nice if he recognises our input and we get to benefit from that next season.

He flattered to deceive for me. Yes, his defensive side of the game has improved a lot, but he just doesn't offer enough going forwards. And hid set piece delivery is poor. Just floats crosses in, rather than whipping them in with pace (Like Norwood does at Stockport). I'd be surprised if a Championship team came in for him.
I'd like to keep Charlie G if possible. But those realised are the ones I expected.
Desperately need to bolster our attack this summer. Easier said than done I know.

I wasn't a fan in previous seasons but this season just gone thought he really improved. A very good League One player, not sure Championship level yet, but you never know until tried. Composed on the ball and can play quick one touch stuff, plenty of assists, and set pieces are better than people give him credit for. Worked a lot more on his tackling, work rate and the physical side of things this season although those obviously aren't what you'd say are his strengths.

There were many games where he put fantastic deliveries in but nobody got on the end of them, so nobody said anything about them.
Obviously he had games where he deliveries were a bit off, but a lot of the time there was nothing wrong with them.
And in the games he didn't play and somebody else took them, they were always a fuckload worse (look at Houghton in the second leg at Stockport for immediate starters).
His defensive side also doesn't get enough credit, there were many times this season where he made huge tackles or interceptions to win the ball back for us to save us from dangerous positions.
Our only player to reach 50 appearances this season. There is a reason for it and we will definitely miss his presence next season. I truly believe it will be a case of you don't know what you have until it is gone for many (although many will double down on how bad they claim he was).

Stand by what I said earlier in the season. You can put far more weight in the footballing opinions of those who rate White than of those who don’t.

I said several times that I thought he was running at 80%.
Deservedly one of the first 3-4 names on the team sheet and could be relied upon to perform. Intelligent and tenacious with solid technical ability.
He knew he was good enough without pushing himself to his limits.
My frustration was he could have been even better. 9/10 and running games rather than a consistent 7/10
But I'd still have him on a 3 year deal in a heartbeat.

Agree with all of this.
With Butler and Chem out, plus Phoenix only coming on as sub we only have the 1 set piece taker in young Harv.
