Team for Wednesday
Views: 862
This will almost certainly be redundant when Revs picks the same XI again on Weds (understandably) but who would everyone start?
I'd be tempted to bring Wildin back and start Phoenix over Phillips as he looked knackered yesterday. Something like:
Marschall
Wildin
Piergianni
Goode
Earley
White
D Phillips
Roberts
Kemp
Patterson
Reid

Pattenden Wildin Goode Pidge Earley
White Thompson

Roberts M.Phillips
Bring on D.Phillips, Patterson and Reid at 70 for Thompson, Roberts and M.Phillips.

Marschall
Wildin Sweenz Goode Pidge Earley
White D.Phillips
Kemp
Roberts M.Phillips
Revert to a back 4 (Goode off) on 70 to allow Roberts to join the attack in the unlikely event we are not 2 up.
And when it gets really desperate lose Saxon to get Pheonix on and swap the knackered Matt P for Bez
As bez is going to score the winner.

When I wrote Roberts I meant Reid as a starter.

I did wonder that, as I thought I know I've dropped him but I didn't think anyone else would 😂

No. We dont
Score early and they come at us with home advantage. Makes it a lot harder to keep them out.
Kill the game. Keep it 0-0. They'll sit back tomprotect the lead.
I'd take a goal in the 93rd minute.

I disagree, get the early goal & its game on, we can win up there we've done it before.

Yeah I'd take that view. If we scored straight away I'd be saying it's too early and expect us to then lose 3-1.
If we keep it nil nil, then around 85 they will start sitting back and we will throw everything at them. Could end up losing 1-0 again doing that or could get a last minute equaliser.
Have no idea how the game will actually pan out but those a re two scenarios I often visualise.

You're playing Roberts as a LWB when we have Saxon and Butler available?
And Earley as a CB when we have Sweeney available?
Are you a mentalist?

This is how we lined up at home to Barnsley and we were playing before with Freestone in the Earley role. He is only nominally a CB and basically plays as a LB when we attack, but can tuck in when required. Robbo is required to do a lot of defending regardless of where he's meant to be playing on paper.
It allows us to play Kemp centrally with only one true wide attacking player available in Robbo. Sax offers more than Sweens until we need a #9. Kemp leaves us too exposed in wide positions but must play.
