Second Leg Playoff tickets
Views: 1448
On sale to Season Ticket Holders first, tomorrow at 10am.
General sale 10am Thursday.
Some will no doubt say this is how the home tickets should have been dealt with.
Can't see there being as much demand as the first leg so expect there will be a lot available for general sale, but I could be wrong.

That was stressful doing it on the phone took 29 minutes to get 3 tickets, was so slow and crashed at final payment. I thought Id lost it but then the confirmation popped up

I had exactly the same and same time taken but managed 3! Refreshing a payment page never seems a good idea but it worked!
Seems quite a lot left still 10 mins ago

50 minutes for 1 ticket, I can see why people were complaining last week now for the home fixture!

Wonder what volume of traffic it can handle.
It was fine yesterday morning, when there would have been a decent volume of traffic as about 350-400 tickets sold early doors, but couldn't handle thousands of people for the home leg and whatever number went on this morning.
As said during the home sales, it is frustrating and doesn't give a good impression, but is something that is only an issue in the rarest of occasions, albeit hopefully more frequently going forwards.

Plus something the club has presumably already identified as needing improvement hence the move to a new ticketing system coming soon with FanBase.

Fanbase is also crap. Couldn't cope when Hednesford v Warrington tickets went on sale recently. Same sort of issues as the current system. Lots of angry season ticket holders!

Seems like whatever it is has a sort of hard cap at a certain number of users where it basically gives up and makes everyone queue up one by one, which an old bloke with a card reader could get close to matching.

Appears to be just under a 1000 sold (86% of our allocation)

It wasn't the queue that was the problem this time that was on 2 minutes, it was the loading of each page once you select the first seat then go back to the stadium layout do it again and again. Took ages to load each page

Tickets for both legs secured.
LET'S FUCKING HAVE IT.
Edit: I would say we have sold about 350 of the allocation in the opening hour, so as I said before they went on sale, I do actually expect us to sell it out (which feels a bit mad to me still, and would never have happened even just a small handful of years ago), but that it will go to general sale tomorrow to do so.

I was going to do a couple of updates via BoroStats on X, so will also post on here.
Will check in a sec, just got home from my afternoon walk :)
Edit: And just to add that whilst it may sometimes appear I am a retiree or something, I do have a full time job with a lot of responsibilities 😂
Edit 2: I make it ~650 remaining, so about 2/5 sold. Suspect a bunch more may go this evening, but will be a good number left for the general sale in the morning, albeit I would advise going on as close to 10am as possible.

Can people buy more than one ticket in the general sale or is it one per person?

Re: Second Leg Playoff tickets

They haven't said, only one per STH during the priority window, but I suspect any cap would be more like four tickets per person than one.

Just looked. I'd guess that around half of the tickets have been sold. (Didn't count, just eyeballed the sections)
AndyC: I've got an account on Borotickets and I can see the sections. Not sure if this is because I'm a STH?

Why are you having a go? It's quite simple, they said one thing, now it's something else. Anyone who knows how the club works will have cancelled all plans, called in sick to their workplace and be sat by their phone feverishly refreshing in case they need to plan to be in a queue for 8 hours.

Be interesting times know how Stockport have organised the away leg.Assume they will sell out and might even have more STH than the allocation , so maybe ballot. On that then difficulties if a family are all holders .

IMO, everyone who travelled to Exeter, Doncaster, Bradford, Burton, Reading and Cardiff should get fist priority. It must be this exact combination of fixtures.

They use loyalty points. Don't know how you get points but presumably having a season ticket gives a certain number?
Details for Stockport's supporters to purchase tickets at our place are
Tuesday 5th May, 12:30pm - On sale to supporters with 525+ loyalty points.
Wednesday 6th May, 10am - On sale to supporters with 425+ loyalty points.
Wednesday 6th May, 12:30pm - On sale to supporters with 350+ loyalty points.
Thursday 7th May, 10am - On sale to supporters with 275+ loyalty points.
Thursday 7th May, 12:30pm - On sale to supporters with 200+ loyalty points.
Friday 8th May, 10am - On sale to supporters with 100+ loyalty points.
Friday 8th May, 12:30pm - On sale to supporters with 50+ loyalty points.

Yeah you'll get points for aways games etc. just didn't know if getting a Season Tickets get you a huge wad of points so is effectively always prioritising STHs above others.
Edit: certainly think it's the way forward for us as we grow (hopefully)

Re: Second Leg Playoff tickets

This is something we’ll have to do if we go up I’d imagine. Initially at least. And it is a fair system.
Season ticket holders would still accrue loyalty points for instances where there are smaller allocations than we have ST holders (cup games at non-league grounds for instance). Usually the less desirable away games come with the most loyalty points attached too. Everyone wants to go to Luton away so not many loyalty points, nobody wants to go to Doncaster for example so if you do go your loyalty is rewarded.
The SA members (which sadly may become something brought in house by the club if we do progress) would then also accrue points and get their tickets based on their points after the ST sales windows. So you could have people without season tickets with more points than season ticket holders, but the season ticket itself puts you at the front of the queue ahead of non ST holders regardless. If there was ever to be a waiting list for season tickets then these people with memberships would be first in line also based on their points tally.

How do loyalty points work for away games where you walk up and buy at the stadium?
Which won't happen often but Pizza cup games and maybe league cup against tinpot teams.
I guess you just simply won't get the points unless you buy them from our club site.

Re: Second Leg Playoff tickets

Would be as Andy said below. And that loyalty system would see more people buying tickets to these games if they have something to gain from it long term such as a better chance of tickets to desirable games or a bump up a season ticket waiting list.
Given our capacity, the higher we go, the less likely it will be to buy on the door for anything I’d imagine.

Re: Second Leg Playoff tickets
Views: 1205
Correct. There's usually a discount in advance too, so most are used to now buying on the website and picking up at the away ground as well.
Would also need to be a system to allocate extra tickets you buy to the right people so they get their points too

I'll get lots of loyalty points living further north 🤣
This season been to these away games:
Blackpool
Huddersfield
Lincoln
Reading
Stockport
Cardiff
Barnsley
Burton
Rotherham
Bradford
Doncaster
Definite northern bias there. I prefer going to games with not many fans and the game we have large crowds at I'm happy to miss. Cambridge, Luton, Peterborough etc haven't been to in years.

Swap in Port Vale and Bolton for Cardiff and Reading and those are the ones I went to. Would've been to Cardiff if it hadn't got put on a weeknight.
I'll be gutted if our away games start being all ticket more often as we never sell out and I like the flexibility of rocking up on the day to sit where I like. For example two days after Bolton all the trains into Manchester were completely fucked, I like being able to decide to just not bother attempting it if something like that happens.

Agreed. Maybe it’s me or maybe it’s our non-league roots but I prefer a smaller crowd. That said the larger numbers we draw now are fantastic for the club and its growth. Saturday for instance being a mega crowd was a fantastic day, hopefully this Saturday is the same.

Interestingly they only introduced it last summer. 275 points for buying a season ticket and then home, away, higher points for midweek games etc

The new system Phil Wallace mentioned in his programme notes was FanBase which Scunthorpe started using last year
https://www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk/news/2025/july/iron-link-up-with-fanbase-as-new-ticketing-provider/
Looks like it is the sort of thing that could facilitate a points system.

Points system also have the effect of "gamifying" things so if you're wondering whether to bother going to see us play Rotherham on a Tuesday night, you might be tempted if buying a ticket will give you an extra ten points to put towards getting priority ticket sales, club merchandise, a lollipop or some Pokémon cards at the end of the season.

I had a season ticket for one year at Sheffield United and it gave a big load of points which meant for years after I could get a ticket to the derby or big cup matches the day before general sale, but after people who had current STs.
It's scrupulously fair because you get what you paid for.
