To try and counter all the jinxing I and others may have done by talking about us making the playoffs this season and possible promotion, I thought I'd look at some localish rivalries and games we could look forward to next season if we stay down.
This is a big if, but IF all teams stay roughly where they are currently, these are the local-ish rivalries and easy-to-get-to games we've got next season. I've just gone for teams either close to us, in the Three Counties, London, and I've thrown in Oxford because of our history, and they're not too difficult to get to.
Luton, Wycombe, Posh, Orient, Wimbledon. Oxford, Bromley, MK Dons, and Cambridge Utd.
So if we don't make the playoffs, or do and don't go up, that's a serious amount of fairly easy-to-get-to away games.
We've also got a chance of losing Exeter City away, some northern teams, and maybe Plymouth.
So, as it stands, away games in League One next season, it looks like overall away travel may get that bit easier.
Well, except for those of us living in exile in Scotland/the North.

As a fellow northerner (though not quite Scotland!) that's awful for me. Most of them ones I avoid, so won't be going to many next season then! Hopefully they're all on Tuesdays so I can watch on Sky Sports+ 🤣

This season has been brilliant for me geographically, except for so many of the games being clustered at the beginning and end of the season. I'll have done eleven away games all told.
