The run in...

I know I've been doing statistical models, but I was wondering what you all expect the final 4 for the playoffs. I think Bolton and Bradford are in so here are the 4 clubs (Stockport are probably safe, but added them anyway) fighting over the final two places remaining fixtures. Give me your predictions for the remaining games.
Tues 21/04
Stockport v Mansfield (draw - Stockport on 72 points)
Stevenage v Barnsley (Stevenage win - Stevenage on 71 points)
Bradford v Plymouth (draw - Plymouth on 67 points)
Rotherham v Luton (Luton Win - Luton on 68 points)
Sat 25/04
Stockport v Peterborough (Stockport win- Stockport on 75 points)
Doncaster v Stevenage (Stevenage draw - Stevenage on 72 points)
Plymouth v Port Vale (Plymouth win - Plymouth on 70 points)
Luton v Barnsley (Luton Win - Luton on 71 points)
Tues 28/04
Stockport v Port Vale (Stockport win - Stockport on 78 points - playoffs secured)
Sat 02/05
Barnsley v Stockport (Stockport win - Stockport on 81 points)
Stevenage v Wigan (Stevenage win - Stevenage on 75 points - playoffs secured)
Northampton v Plymouth (Plymouth win - Plymouth on 73 points)
Bolton v Luton (Draw - Luton on 72 points)
I see the final 4 being:
3rd - Bolton - Playoffs Semi A
4th - Bradford - Playoffs Semi B
5th - Stockport - Playoffs Semi B
6th - Stevenage - Playoffs Semi A
What do you all expect to happen from here?

Of the 4 teams in the analysis, you don't have any losses at all from their remaining games. That won't happen, but I can't tell you which one will be a loss!

you're right - there is a good chance there are a loss or two in there. Plymouth at Bradford and Luton at Bolton are the most likely, though we are also likely to stink at least once in this run in. Maybe tonight.

Exciting time isn't it. No point predicting outcomes of other games, need to focus on our own performance at this point.
(If pushed, I think we might win all three...)
Wish Saturday was 3 pm KO!

Staring the obvious perhaps but my thoughts are
Win tonight and we have a very good chance and think we will make the playoffs.
Lose tonight and I think that's then it over.
Draw tonight and it's still all up in the air but think we'd miss out ultimately.
My optimistic prediction, narrow win tonight, go to Donny and get a draw. Then will need to win on the final day v Wigan which we will to secure the playoff spot. Pitch invasion and a fine.

Don't forget when the team had to get results at Swindon and Barrow to get automatic promotion and actually did it. Needs must.

Promotion was already in the bag by Barrow, but Swindon was HUGE

Just checked and I think the point of winning Swindon was it meant promotion could be secured at home to Grimsby without Barrow coming into it, which we did.

Can we invade the pitch if we win the play off semi too?
What could go wrong?

The key fixture for me is Bradford v Plymouth. If Plymouth win that one I suspect we will need to win every game.
If they draw (or lose) we can afford to draw or even lose one, and still make it. I don't expect Luton to win all three.

The dream scenario would be Bradford missing out.

Wasn't impressed with Plymouth in either of our fixtures. Should have beaten them in both

They were so wank until they took the lead at their place, proper stepping on a rake moment for us.

If we don’t make the play offs with that run in we’ve really fucked it.
More concerned about Luton than Plymouth. I’m surprised Plymouth are up there, unimpressed both times I’ve seen them.

Highly likely to happen if were to make the play-offs at all, but I don’t like the thought of needing something on the final day to qualify.

I very much agree with nearly all that. I do wonder if Barnsley are going to lose all their remaining games though - surely they’ll get something somewhere? - let’s just hope it’s not against us! As for ‘what happens next’, I think realistically we put up a good fight against Bolton but ultimately miss out to them. I expect Bolton to be the playoff winners, and (frankly) if there was any justice in football I’d say they are the most deserving.

I think Plymouth but very much depends on the Bradford game. If Plymouth do beat Bradford, Bradford also then have Bolton so you never know they could be sucked down into it too.
I feel we need two wins at least and due to our crap goal difference probably a draw as well. I'm worried one of our home game will be a draw, along with Doncaster.

I'm hoping for 1-0 vs Barnsley, 1-1 at Bradford and then 1-0 vs Wigan.
I do worry about there being two draws. I don't think 5 points is enough.

Wigan look a worry to me too.
Since losing to Arsenal in the FA Cup in February, they've lost 3 of 13, albeit, against Stockport, Plymouth and Reading.

Wigan have come good at a time where they've had a run of mostly duff teams.
They've done well to build some momentum like, but put them in front of a better side and they're fucking ordinary.
They might be a problem next season, if their recruitment is decent.
