Back in the 70s,80s was there a pub on Fishers Green Road (not the Fisherman or Crooked Billet)
My youth memory seems to think there was.

Been there once since it became the TT.
It's like someone watched TOWIE, then asked Peter Stringfellow to help them decorate.
Hideous.

I used to go to the Crooked Billet on lunch when I worked at Fujitsu. Had time to tear over, knock a couple back with a plate of chips and then back to work to breeze through the afternoon.

No wonder the Post Office system was tucked if you were all noddingboffni. The afternoon.
(My late dad did the exact same thing some evenings, he worked half nights 2-10, 6p-2a at Fujitsu a long while ago)

Most of the staff that worked along Gunnels Wood were the same, used to work there early 90's, rammed at lunch times, 12 - 3 opening times as well.
