EFL End of season award nominees
Views: 508
In League One, the Manager of the Season award will be contested by four managers, including Michael Skubala, who has already guided Lincoln City to promotion, alongside Graham Alexander (Bradford City), Brian Barry-Murphy (Cardiff City) and Alex Revell (Stevenage).
Meanwhile, Dom Ballard (Leyton Orient), Owen Bailey (Doncaster Rovers), Jack Moylan (Lincoln City) and Sonny Bradley (Lincoln City) are up for the Player of the Season award.
Skubala should win manager of the season hands down.

Skubala will rightly win it. But Revs has done an incredible job, proud of him for getting us where we are and he’s hugely deserving of the nomination.
Owen Bailey is a player I’d love to see in a Boro shirt.

Yes, as much as I'd like it to be Revs, it's got to be Skubala. I'd be amazed if he's still there at the end of next season.

100%
They'll be in the relegation zone and he'll be sacked before Christmas. Modern football innit

In this would not surprise me if Rotherham sniff round Revs at some point, even end of season.

Why would Revs drop down to League 2?
Going back to Evans for a third time would be a smart move for them at League 2 level.

Not that I think it's likely they would, but it's an interesting decision if they did.
On the one hand Revs is deeply invested in us and has a real connection and is settled, but also has a connection to Rotherham.
Like it or not they are a bigger club than us and would probably pay better. It's also a chance to test himself elsewhere and grow his CV.
If we get to the playoffs and lose, and it would be a big rebuild phase for us, then I could see him dropping a league by choice for the potential he has there.
Equally he may feel unfinished business here. Definitely wouldn't go if we were in the championship 🤣
So yeah an interesting one. Could justify either choices.

Revs has actually been named for one of two Rotherham Legends squads playing each other in a charity match the day after our final home game, managed by no other than Ronnie Moore.

Perhaps he is signing the paperwork whilst up there, only joking.

Agree with this ,at end of day he might be ambitious and would see this as a step up even if they are in lower league. Yes family ties here but sometimes ambition and/or money talks.In.that context and the Rotherham connection is why I said it would not shock me if it happened

Where does he live?
Where does his wife work? Addenbrooks rings a bell.
Isn't she a specialist in her medical field so a transfer wouldn't necessarily be simple.
He's been settled round this way for many years now.

Yeah, Harvey lives in da Wade. I was seated on the table next to him and his lass down Biggles Lounge (mmm, tasty) a little while ago.

Indeed, if it's not Skubala then it makes a mockery of the awards.

I was hoping Skubala could get his award present by Scatman John, but it turns out he passed away 26 years ago.
