Goode booking

Apparently booked, I must've missed it, for taking too long to dry the ball?

I thought sideline towels were banned now?

Why doesn't he just wear some lightweight grippy gloves or wrap his fingertips with some form of grip tape like we used to put on skateboards and metal steps 40 years ago?

Or get Keef to sew a strip of towel inside the front of his his shirt.

Or just stop taking our throw ins, which luckily he did do for most of yesterday.

If you still used X and followed the wonderful @_BoroStats, you would have seen it explained at FT yesterday that the booking was for using a foreign object to dry the ball, which has been banned for two or three seasons now since EFL clubs voted to ban it.

In the PL it is permitted provided both clubs agree in advance, otherwise the same rules as the EFL apply and only the playing kit can be used.

Similarly at a home game this season Goode asked a steward to open the gate between the pitch and stand to give him more a run up for his throw, which the referee rightly told him not to do.

If I still used X I'd be more of a hypocrite than I already am though.

Out of interest, have we scored as a result of a Goode long throw this season?

You wouldn't find Jamie McCombe doing something so stupid.

He was booked because he got Joe from the media team who was sitting nearby taking photos, to dry the ball under his bib. Lino grassed him up to the ref. Rules state you can only dry the ball using your own kit.
