Love him to get a few minutes and do a goal.

Just noticed N Ire playing Wales in a friendly tonight.Given both could have been in WC playoffs as well was this arranged at last minute? Just hope Reid does not pick up a injury.

Was always the plan. The two play-off semi losers would play a friendly tonight. Definitely a pointless exercise though.

Pointless game. Both teams gutted to be eliminated and won't want to be there.
An opportunity for fringe players at best. Plenty will pull out with 'niggles'
I'd expect Wales and NI will now focus on building for.2028, will BGR be too old by then?

International friendlies are great with all the fixture congestion. Pick the 20 players eligible for the country who aren't good enough to be in the starting XI, then get them to prove why they aren't good enough for the starting XI. Riveting.

It's only Saka and Rice that are a bit dubious - see post below about all the Arsenal players doing it. The others either got obvious knocks from the agricultural Uruguay challenges on friday (Madueke, Foden etc) or were pre-planned to only be there for Friday's game, with the other 11 who had last week off and arrived with the squad on Saturday now available for tonight (Kane, Bellingham etc)

Title chasing Arsenal have 11 players who have pulled out of their international teams. I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Just a guess but is your PL* club Tottenham?
* Enjoy it while it lasts.
(FWIW I couldn't give a shit about any PL club anymore, used to be a Leeds fan as a kid, and quite like how Arsenal are shithousing this season)

They are but very loosely. I’m a dyed in the wool Boro fan now (the last 20 odd years). I like to see Spurs do well but by the same token it would be funny if they were relegated. The dislike of Arsenal is deep rooted though. Partly from following Spurs as a youngster and also just from the fact that most of their fans I encounter seem to be deluded, and have no capacity for debate other than an Arsenal = good, everything else = bad mentality.
Arteta has done a great job there undeniably and turned the place around but if they get over the line this season it’s because they’re the best of a bad bunch much like Liverpool last season (incidentally another club I dislike strongly, for much the same reasons as Arsenal).

Man City are the people's champions. The plucky underdogs. Not like they've spent billions and bought up all the best players over the years to do it. They are the good ones we should all be rooting for.
Screw Arsenal, a club with traditional values and their loyalty to a manager with a long term project, without a bottomless pit of money*.
Also, Arsenal have a couple of hundred fans online, out of their 100 millions fans worldwide, who are really annoying, whereas Man City don't really have fans so are less triggering to people.
*Appreciate they have spent A LOT on players and the only reason they are still able to compete, but still a lot less than competitors

Re: Jamie Reid

I stand to make about £150 if Man City do win it. Their odds are stupid at 7/1 given that at some point when they win their game in hand and beat Arsenal they'll be only a few points behind. So even if they don't end up winning the league the cash out should be higher than the stake when they within 3 points again.

Do you not think the bookies will factor that in to their cash out offer so that any gain is marginal at best?

Yes, it will be priced up not only to reflect their expected league winner, but also the order of the remaining fixtures and likelihood of each side winning in order that the odds don't alter much, barring a shock result.
Less so in L1 and L2, but with the volumes traded on the PL, it is 100% be factored in.

So unless Sev has stuck a grand on Citeh he won't be making £150 on a cash out?
Because if he is, I'm cashing in my premium bonds and going online....

Not on a cash out no. But I'm sure I'll get the opportunity to get my money back in a few weeks if I want to. £150 is if they win the league.
