It’s literally Tractor Country. They’re not exactly likely to be fans of the Farmer Harmers, are they?

I think on balance it’s a fair assessment, given that the area is steeped in farming history.

Just purely for info he turned up at Hitchin FC in the election campaign too but politicians of all persuasion did the same all round country.Plus quite normal for the local MPs to attend odd match at local club .

Unrealistic to keep politics out of football. The incoming independent football regulator wouldn't have happened without political pressure for example. Also see anything that FIFA do.

We (well the admins) do reasonably well to keep politics out of Borochat tho'.
We can use other platforms to espouse our varied opinions on shit politicians and their enablers.
FIFA & UEFA etc are footballing bodies so are fair game in the off season when they do something stupid.
And the regulator will be an interesting subject when it starts investigating clubs with dodgy finances and owners.

Agree with this as far as this (and other football forums) goes.
I guess on a wider level that politics and sport are inevitably going to mix because of the potential political and financial benefits for doing so.
