Comfortable all game. Keeper didn't have a save to make.
Carved out a few good chances. Great subs resulting in a goal. No player had a bad game, good debut from M. Phillips.
A much needed 3 points. Still only one defeat at home this season.
Beating a side in 5th place in good form, who we have never previously beaten, about 5 times the size of us, whilst on a terrible run ourselves with a team low on confidence.
If you aren't happy with that performance then you're either a troll or supporting a small club in League One isn't for you.
A job well done by all today.
Now we need to follow it up on Tuesday.

Nicely said Sev. A fantastic performance from a team struggling a bit at the moment.

Completely agree, I think Pidg’s forehead is my faiv from seasons gone and the debut from Phillips was a pleasant delight!

Totally agree with you. I brought my future son-in-law with me for his first experience of Stevenage today & he was really impressed!
I thought it was very enjoyable. The players were really up for it, kept trying to play good football & worked their socks off.
Dan Phillips is my player of the season. He’s so consistent & hard as nails. Superb debut for Matt Phillips indicated by the boos when he was substituted!
Jordan Houghton is class. I always feel more secure with him in the team.
Still don’t rate White. Apart from the odd dead ball, I don’t see what he brings to the team. His 1st half free kick in an excellent position was poor.
Saxon Earley is excellent - one particular tackle was superbly timed!
All in all, a much happier Saturday. It’s not the greatest performance ever but it’s how we should be playing against a very good L1 team.

Really enjoyed today, beat a good side, May Phillips looks just what we need, only disappointing thing was the attendance, obviously 12:20 KO had an effect but wish our fans weren’t so quick to turn their backs on the side.

We discussed as we were walking out the ground today, how some of our more braindead fans always make excuses whenever we play top teams at home, saying we got lucky how poor they were.
Is it any coincidence that whenever most sides play us at our place they look poor? Or perhaps it is because our home record has earned us respect that makes them wary, and we play in a way that stifles them and gives us the best chance of getting results?
Some might even accuse us of being overly defensive at home, but we have won half of our home matches this season and only lost once, and we have walked out after home games against Bradford, Cardiff, Bolton, Peterborough and Huddersfield to name just some of those who came to us on hot form and scoring for fun, and with the exception of Cardiff we have taken something from all the rest and commented how much better we expected them to be and how little threat they offered (Bradford and Bolton both had just two SOT as we drew with them, Peterborough and Huddersfield none as we beat both). It isn't coincidence, we give them a game, we stifle them, we pick up points as a result, rather than going all out attack against them and losing.

You can't underestimate how much our narrow pitch impacts the games. There's no surprise we struggle so much away.

Only recently though. Our first ten away matches this season we went W5 D2 L3, with the losses being at Huddersfield, Lincoln and Reading, which are all very tough away games.
It's very weird how after that we then drew at Wimbledon and have lost the five since, shipping in goals for fun!

Must've widened our pitch, that would explain the drop in form.

Agree with almost everything you've said, but thought White was anonymous for most of the game. Same delivery every corner. He's not got the urgency he had first 10 games this season, to me he looks like he's playing within himself a bit.
The back 3 looks good, bar one absolute howler from Goode, it suits us and enables Saxon to be able to get up the pitch. Playing consecutive games has to be good for him.
Luther also very comfortable as a wing back.
And it enables Sweeney and Goode to maraud upfield a bit in open play, without leaving huge gaps, giving the opposition something else to worry about.
Like Matt Phillips, clearly has a good touch as well as strength, and football intelligence as you'd expect.

Was at the game today finally, played well for the majority of the match, should have scored with a couple of chances we created earlier and the one mistake we made at the back we didn't concede from unlike other recent games.
Have missed match days, enjoyed that, live is far better than on TV.
The 2 Phillips, Houghton and Goode the pick of the bunch for me, a good spine to the side if they can stay fit.

The most pleasing thing was how we shut them out so easily, if only all pitches were as narrow as ours!
Hopefully we can kick on from this and put on a bit more of a performance v Vale. Can we please start Kemp as well!

I was underwhelmed by Huddersfield. They were missing Alfie May so that helps, wonder if any others were missing.

Both Phillips' and Earley were all excellent, and we had some proper depth on the bench today which was encouraging too. Completely shutting out Huddersfield shouldn't be underestimated - did Marschall even have a save to make?

Fantastic today but your last line brings up the one concern we should all have.
We'd had the odd good game and good moment since the bad run of results started...
When have we followed up on them in subsequent games?
I'm very happy about today's result and hats off to Revell and the lads...
But I'll save the champagne corks for when we can start sustaining these sorts of performances.

Our away has been bad. We have lost 5 in a row.
Our home form isn't bad though. Won the last 2 in a row, and drawn the previous 5.
Arguably it's those draws where if we could have turned just 2 of them into wins, we would be level with Huddersfield now. (Actually got 2 games in hand on them so could go above them anyway)

Agreed on call counts there. I don't see this result as the redemption of the team but I do hope it now gives them the hope and confidence to start stringing wins together.
I still don't have the expectation that we'll make the playoffs anymore but it's great to see us win against a genuine playoff contender.

I thought we were more than comfortable today. Goode's long throws were very disruptive too. Reid setup Phillips for that chance in the first half, could be the start of a beautiful relationship
