Our 475th home goal in the FL to win our 50th home match in League One, scored brilliantly by Pidge in a match where he became our top appearance maker in League One, and assisted by a sublime delivery from Harvey White in his 100th appearance for us. PHWOAR!
I felt that was a very comfortable and solid performance where we kept a seriously good L1 side at arm's length and never felt troubled by them, and where if anybody was going to, or deserved to, win, it was us. And a top result. Very happy with that.
Phillips looked as sharp and good as I hoped he would be, and looked every inch the player I have watched play at levels above this in years gone by. Those moaning he was taken off, it was obviously decided before the game that he only had 65 mins in him today, and with a match on Tuesday and lots more to come, it would have been fucking stupid to push it and potentially lose him to injury for the sake of another 30 mins, especially with Reid having gone off injured.

Want to give credit to Revs for his subs today, and also his decision to keep Harvey on the pitch. His deliveries are always a goal threat. Great that he's developed into our main man. Luton can f**K off lol

Think if I remember correctly the match sponsor today was a 90 year long term fan being treated by his family for his birthday. Pidge is probably his favourite player, so I’m willing to forgive him for that him.

Too right.
When it was announced my exact response was "If I were the sponsor I would be picking him too, to get his signed shirt and a photo with him".

Not the most exciting game, but I’m really happy with the result, another 3 points on the board.
Great free kick from White into the box, and a brilliant header from Piergianni to finish.

Football’s all about opinions, isn’t it? I’ll happily take the 3 points either way. 🙂
Onwards and upwards, and how nice it is to get our first win over Huddersfield.

Watching from my phone in the car, I agree, it was a dreadful game. Great result. I watched Leiston v Bromsgrove Sporting today. Leiston were terrific and play football that people on here would cream themselves to see at BHW!

Yep, after four losses and one draw previously.
Discussed that during the game, how especially away from home against them we actually often play pretty well and create decent chance, but fail to take them and then lose because they always have quality L1 players who take whatever chances are presented to them.

Re: Match Thread

I would say it was very comfortable. As normal we are struggling to break down a side who by the looks of it would be happy with a draw at what is a tough place to go.
Always is and buts, but if the keeper's leg doesn't get in the way of that first half chance then could have been a different game.
Now it's a case of which changes make a difference late on, if any.
At nil nil, whilst comfortable so far, there's always a danger of conceding from a mistake or a great piece of play or set piece etc, which is always my worry!

Sorry, but that is absolute bollocks.
The first 30 mins of that match was all us attacking and looking for a goal. Just because we lack quality and don't score doesn't mean we are going for the 0-0. We absolutely were not today and were the side of the two most pushing for the win, which we deservedly got.

We must have at least 6 of them at game. How many this, season have a goal or even a chance come from?
Just mix it up a bit, it's not hard.

Watching on the TV it's hard to tell from a distance exactly who the players are but I can immediately tell the difference between Reid and Phillips based on what they do.
Miscontrolled ball goes 6 yards back to their player, must be Reid.
Holds the ball and turns his player, must be Phillips.
Player running towards their goals, must be Phillips.
Player shrugging looking for a free kick, must be Reid.

Front two replaced. Shame Phillips can't yet play 90 mins. A good debut for me and really highlighted all the things I find frustrating about Reid, because Phillips was doing everything I expect Reid to be able to do, but doesn't.

Presume 3/5 at the back. Luther and Earley providing width. Not sure if our new signing will be up with Reid or roaming around behind
Sweeney Goode Freestone
Luther Earley
Houghton White
D Phillips
M Phillips
Reid
