Revs is to be held accountable. He’s the manager.

Accountable? Revell. And his coaches. They're the only ones whose jobs are on the line this season.
Responsible however? That's different.
Wallace, Hunter, Revell, Cuthbert, Banfield and the players. As Sev says below, it's a whole club effort.

Bizarrely for once recruitment isn't to blame, the idea that we can't afford to get reliable forwards is plausible enough.

Isn't that an excuse that can always be used?
Yes we have one of the smallest budgets in the league. We probably always will do. That doesn't mean we should accept the current level or return from our attacking players.

Prolific scorers are a rarity. They’re also helped by the service they get (or don’t in our case). If a striker is scoring goals then a bigger team will come and buy them (see Moro, Godden). They get to a level where the goal return dries up though. Hence Moro only having a brief flirt with the Premier League and Godden not making it there at all.
It’s a bit of a throw enough shit (literally in a lot of cases) at the wall and see what sticks situation. The answer probably is to try source strikers from lower leagues but just as a suggestion, when they get here we should try give them some service.
One of the most tiresome things in recent times has been the widespread blaming of Jamie Reid for our lack of goals. The bloke can only work to his own limitations and to the service he gets as can any striker we have. And if you don’t have a prolific front man then the goals have to come from around the team. That’s not happening either.

I think all anyone does is keep buying tickets until they win the lottery. Our numbers haven't come up since Reidy got his good year coaxed out of him and it didn't even sustain long enough to cash in on that one.

Why does there always have to be one thing/someone to blame.
You win as a club and you lose as a club. Every stakeholder has a responsibility. The manager needs to find a way. The players need to play better. The fans need to support and not self implode. The chairman and director need to review recruitment and processes.... Etc etc.
Having said that, I'd blame the kitman.

If Keith ironed the players shirts with creases, they'd be a lot sharper.
