Who Is Your Prem Team?
This question really is irritating...I get asked it on occasions.
I only have one team now, unable to spread my loyalty. Back in the day it was a First Division side but to be quite frank I couldn't give them the time of day now. It does raise another question...if West Ham, for example, were to come down to the Championship and Boro got promoted, and lets say one of our supporters had West Ham as their Prem team, where would their loyalty lie? I guess, the same could be said if it was an FA cup tie.

I’ll soon be following two League One teams - Leicester and Boro 😱

Thats quite a dilemma...Leicester away, will you go in the home end or away end? The answer you give will determine your real loyalty forever. Putting you on the spot eh 😄.

I was in the away end when then non league Boro lost 3-0 at Leicester in the Fa Cup in 2008. If they meet again I’ll go in the home end at both games. Think that’s fair!

Had a few growing up due to peer pressure from family, Spurs, Arsenal the 2 main ones, went for Utd as they didn't win many trophies at the time and my mates supported Liverpool who did.
Did a tour round the Uruguay National Stadium last week, was asked by the tour guide which team I supported, Stevenage, he said League 2 so he had heard of us, corrected to him to now in League 1 😎

As a kid a thought it was Liverpool, mainly due to peer pressure, but luckily my dad started taking me to boro from about 8 years old.
As an adult I realised there is a real difference between being a ‘fan’ and a supporter, so Stevenage is my only team and has only ever been.
I still admire Liverpool as a club but am not really bothered how they get on, it’s only Stevenage for me.

Been a Liverpool fan since the end of the Shankly era. I used to have family that lived on the Wirral so we’d often go up to stay with them & go to a game in the days when you could pay on the turnstile! Ray Kennedy was my hero & is still my all time favourite player.
Stevenage is my main team now though and, if they were ever in the same league, I’d be rooting for Boro.
I still watch out for Liverpool results & watch games on TV occasionally but I haven’t been to one of their games for 35 years!

It was Leeds because they were big in the seventies.
Now, whilst I keep an eye on results, if they were playing down the road for a fiver, I'd probably stay home if it was raining.

Spurs. It was because my dad was a Gooner that we chose Boro' as a compromise team back in 1996 and, well, Stevenage took over.

I come from a Spurs family. As a child it was a case of going to Spurs games every so often or Stevenage regularly. Stevenage was my choice. I wanted to see as much live football as possible. Boro becoming my team happened without being a conscious decision really, once I was old enough to earn my own money and travel to games myself there was no choice to make I just went to Stevenage.
I still follow Spurs but Boro are my team. Sat in the away end at White Hart Lane for the FA Cup game, would do if we crossed paths again etc.
So Spurs are my team “Prem team” but Stevenage are my real team.

I got asked this at a get together among friends shortly before Christmas. When I said I supported Stevenage, after a short pause, the lady asked, "and do you have a proper team".
I just grinned, took a sip of my beer, and let the silence hang there.

I went to a few games in France and Belgium over the weekend. At a game in France a guy asked me who my English team was and when I replied with 'Stevenage' he said 'I don't know how you say.... But who the f*ck is they?!'

I follow a proper Premier League team so no chance of them being in the same League as Stevenage.
But if they ever were I'd be supporting Stevenage.
In seriousness though, my mum and dad used to watch them in the 70s before I was born, my uncle was a season ticket holder and they were the team I supported as a child in the 90s until I was about 14, before I first discovered Stevenage had a football team.
Then I chose to support Stevenage but there will always be that history and family connected to the Premier League team, so will want them to win and look out for their results but don't actually go to games or actively get involved supporting them.

A few yrs back a Arsenal fan stopped me on way back from game and asked Boro score .He also asked me what PL team I support and I said none , I was told I need to support a "real" team.BTW Arsenal were at home someday but this real fan of theirs was not at the Emirates obviously .You have to laugh.

I have none. Football is awful to watch these days. Premier league being the worst. I tried watching Arsenal v Chelsea on TV last night. It was just players falling over at the slightest touch and the Ref giving them free kicks. He even has the whistle in his gob, and started blowing a split second before any contact.
I’m glad I don’t have Sky Sports. Boro is my only team.

Only one team, Boro.
The PL is shit but will be improved by our presence in season 27/28 following consecutive promotions.

The PL seems like a hybrid of football. I really have no interest in it whatsoever. Give me the rough and tumble (and passion) of the lower leagues any day.

As a younger kid it was Liverpool, mainly because my Dad was from there (well, Kirkby) and they were big in Europe so I could listen to them on the radio. As a young teenager I started going to Arsenal every week with school mates but had a bit of a crisis when Liverpool came to town… and ultimately decided to stick with Arsenal. When I left school I drifted away from the Arsenal matches but still watched them on telly and followed their scores. Then in 2004, craving a new ‘thing’ in my life I came to Stevenage and found a crowd of mates, and a whole new love of the game. Never been anything but Stevenage since, and barely even cast an eye over MOTD any more.
