Newcastle or Crystal Palace at home in R5.
Due to be played by mid-Feb.

First time we have ever made the fifth round.
First time we have ever beaten Bolton.
Draw should be on Friday I believe.

Anyone else seen the highlights? How many players got in the box compared to the 1st team? Always had 4 or 5 whereas 1st team lucky to get 3

First team can definitely learn a bit from the youth team. Not afraid to shoot and creating plenty of chances.
That Norris has better hold up play than Reidy.
Also never a red for Bolton. Not sure what the ref was watching just a shirt pull and wasn’t last man. Yellow all day.

I love these type of posts.
Put Reidy up against Bolton's youth team and he'd have a field day.
And its all very well being more attacking in youth football, as you have more confidence they're not going to cut through you on a counter attack like a knife through butter like Luton did for their 2nd last weekend

But Reidy isn’t playing against a bunch of kids he plays against adults. Norris hold up play against people his own age was better than anything I’ve seen from Reidy in a long time.
You can take shots without being exposed on the counter. Lots of our players seem to lack confidence and try to walk it in. So many games this season we’ve barely had a shot on target during a half

But you just said Norris has better hold up play than Reidy. He doesn't. He has better hold up play against some kids than someone does against proper league footballers. Thats really not a surprise or something that needs commenting on, yet people do it all the time

Bolton were a decent side, even with 10 men. The lads battled well though, with some nice football played.
Shame the club haven't bother with any media posts around it tonight. Surely we could/ should have had someone there?

@StevenageYouth post stuff on X, so assume they do it through that rather than the senior account.
There's a video somewhere (Instagram?) of the players all singing to John Legend after the game in the dressing room.

Would have if we hadn't played there three times already, but as we have I won't be using annual leave on it.
Will go to our trip to Bromley in R5 though.

Bolton down to 10 men about 25mins (last man).
Boro started brighter but Bolton had the best of the last 15.

Nah, draw not done yet.
Bromley host Ipswich tomorrow. I picked them as been wanting to play them all season in the FLT as they are my only new ground in all of L1 and L2. Fortunately looks like we may get them in the league next season anyway.
Many of the 'big guns' play their home games in this competition at local non-league grounds rather than their own stadium.

That’s a shame. I seem to remember Cambridge playing at Arsenal not long ago.
Knowing our luck we will get Charlton away

Flashscores has us having Charlton away, but the draw definitely hasn't been done yet, and based on the previous two years will be this Friday.
Cambridge took thousands to Arsenal in it (Arsenal have Man City away, being played at the Academy stadium).
Only really ManUre, Everton and Norwich are playing at their proper grounds this round, with Leeds, Sunderland, Newcastle, QPR etc. all playing at other non-league venues.
Although I see the next round is due to be played when I am in Cape Verde anyway, so a shit draw or somebody at home please!
