Bozzie played in both.
Plus was part of three promotions.

This has to be the best game I have seen live. Absolutely outplayed a stacked Newcastle team. Good times

Agree, preferred it to the Villa game even. I think because of the history and everything else. Was just a magic occasion.
Something else to make you feel old. Some people born in 2000 are now 26.... :/

Apparently we got lucky due to bouncy balls.

Krul
Williamson
Coloccini
Nolan?
I have weird memories of Alan Smith and Wayne Routledge being there.
That's about it.
Tiote came on and got sent off

I remember them having either someone who sadly passed away since or someone who was convicted for offences, or possibly both, and now plays non league.
Edit: just checked. It was Cheick Tiote (RIP) and Nile Ranger who I'm thinking of.

The way he casually drilled one in for them simply highlighted the talent they had at their disposal and made it all the better.

As I recall, Barton was the only Newcastle player who looked as though he gave one. And he went round all our players afterwards (and our bench) to shake hands. What a loveable rogue 😄! And no, it wasn't him who decked Lairdy.

Correct, i gained a lot of respect for him and his reaction post match.
Respect that has long since dissipated.

Likewise. You wouldn't want your sister to marry one.

Probably because he had a bet on them to beat us and/or him to score. Skin in the game.

Barton was a committed football bloke who had a promising start to his managerial career. He was also already a total dick and in the age of social media where that behaviour is endlessly rewarded until it collides with reality, he never really stood a chance.
