No chance. They'll be going for someone with Championship experience.

Given how the team is stagnating would we be happy taking the significant payout or prefer to keep Revell?
I don't want him out at all but if the money is in the high 6 figures would it be worth it?

We smash Stockport in their own back yard without Harvey, Goode or Kemp but we're stagnating?

Yeah, 5th in League One and stagnating? Where exactly do you think a small club like Boro should be?

As I've said elsewhere in this thread I'm talking about our form over the last 9 games.
I've not said our season is stagnant, I'm saying recent form has stagnated.

Before that game we'd scored 1 goal in the previous 5 league games and taken just 5pts from them.
If you include the 2 league games before that run it's 2 goals in 7 and 6pts in 7.
We beat Stockport but then the very next game had a torrid 2-2 draw with Burton.
The Stockport result was a glimmer of hope but one decent result doesn't end a period of stagnation.
We're not out of the woods.

Torrid , glimmer of hope , out of the woods - i actually do not think apart from maybe Brentford or Bournemouth there is another team punching above their weight as in size , fan base than us . We’ve just scored 5 goals in two games . We have not been beaten by more than one goal this season. Fuxx knows what you’ll say if we go on a 2 game losing streak.
Sack Revs , sack the board - it’s ridiculous we’re not 10 points clear of all the other little teams in our league.

I've not said sack Revell. I've said we're in a run of bad form. I am keenly aware of our size and limitations and bloody proud of what the club has achieved. But this has been a poor run of form that we'd all ideally like to end right?
Or do we just shrug our shoulders and go "oh well at least we're punching above our weight"? There's a fine line between appreciating where we are and limiting ourselves.
The 5 goals we've scored have been met by 3 goals in return and because of that we've taken 4pts (which is decent), but are you honestly happy with how the Burton game played out?
Our defence is something to proud of. We've got, relative to where we are, arguably the best defence in the 72. It's so far beyond what a club our size could hope for. But as I've said elsewhere that's only half the story if we're going to push on.
Do I demand or expect us to finish in the top 6? Of course not. That would be the stuff of dreams and something we've hardly ever managed in this league.
But am I happy with our recent inability to score? No.
The 5 goals in 2 games is progress and I hope that continues, and lifts us out of this stagnant patch, but it's no good if we go from not scoring and not conceding to scoring and conceding all the time.

Burton have beaten Cardiff (a), Bolton (h), Bradford (a) and Wimbledon (a) this season so yes 2-2 isn't bad.
I think people are making the mistake that teams who play used to play us make, in thinking because we are small or because league position is lower then it's an easy 3 points.
And as you say the 5 we have scored has seen 3 conceded, that's what happens when you go out attacking. It's either that or not score many and keep clean sheets.
We've had a tricky spell (with lots of injuries) but still picking up points, and daresay maximising our potential.

Exactly- it’s about expectations. We were only 11 points ahead of Burton going into the game - hardly a huge gap or a nailed on win but people seem to think we should win. . After a poor first half , second half we made chances and scored 2 - with their help . We drew 2-2 , disappointing after being 2-1 up but they were the better team on the day so in the end a decent point.

And yet, we are still top 6 and 8th in the form table.
And our ground has got.4 sides and will still be here in 2 seasons time.

Right and I'm not complaining about where we are but if those 7 games had been the first 7 of the season we'd be at the wrong end of the table at the end of a run like that.
We had a great start but we're in a stagnant patch. I hope we turn it around but all that doesn't mean we're not stuttering right now.
The Stockport result didn't buck the trend. It's about getting a good result and then following it up with good results.
I'm honestly fine with us finishing mid table. I obviously hope we'll hit another run of form and challenge for promotion but I would not be unhappy with a mid table finish.
We've come so far. My one thought is right now it feels like we're hitting a glass ceiling. We need to find a way to break it.

Do you really listen to yourself, what do you think our glass ceiling is, i'm sorry i know its your opinion but you do really spout some absolute drivel at times.
Take a look at what we are competing against, take a breath and just enjoy the ride it wont last for ever :-)

My usage of a glass ceiling is that we're stuck at a certain level and can't advance as we're looking up at the teams vastly better financed and equipped with us.
That isn't a criticism of the club at all, not even in the slightest. I'm not sure where you're getting that.
Apologies for highlighting a poor run of form.

do you expect us to win every game by 14 goals or something?
Bad run of form that has seen us plummet down the table obviously, with the run of games we have coming up i expect us to drop quite a way down the table, but then i'm a realist when it comes to football

Right so you agree we're in a bad patch.
Nowhere have I heaped unrealistic expectations on the club. Even before this poor run of form started I was saying it was far too early to talking about promotion.
I would be very happy if we finished mid-table this season.
But if there's the opportunity to do better than we should absolutely hope and push for that right?
We have arguably the best defence in the FL (for where we are). That's the sort of thing that teams pushing for the playoffs and higher are built on.
So would I like to see us scoring more goals while holding firm at the back? Absolutely.
Is that an issue?

Nope not at all, i was quoting your comment about bad form, for what its worth I've never been completely convinced we were that good anyway, but this all started under Steve Evans! But you wont find me moaning or whining about it, i have been around the club for too long, so i fully appreciate where we are and what we are achieving, which it way above what i was dreaming of watching the team play at slough town on a freezing cold New Years day many many moons ago

Think that only winning 2 of our last 9 league games counts as poor form, for a team in the top 6? Burton, like others have done, come to Stevenage with a game plan, of stifling us, and the players then resort to the old formula of hoof ball, which will never work with BGR up top on his own. I'm sure Rev's doesn't instruct them to do this, but it seems to be the default if our passing game get snuffed out. We need our wingers to take on the fullbacks more often, rather than turn back and make a simple pass. We need willing runners from midfield to support BGR. When teams come at us (Generally Away from home) it gives us the room to counter and play some really good football. At home we are too pedestrian with our passing, allowing teams to get in shape and defend. There needs to be more 'fizz' to our game.

I would say to that, that over the past 10 games the form table across the division is incredibly tight as everybody keeps dropping points and nobody in the division this year is going on sustained winning runs.
For instance Bradford have only picked up one point more than us in the last ten matches, Lincoln have only picked up four points more than us in the same stretch, even Stockport only six points more.
Continuously picking up points even when not playing to our best or struggling to score, is key, and we have been doing exactly that. We haven't lost consecutive matches yet this season.
Things really are not bad and our form isn't as bad as some are suggesting (not only on here), when compared to the rest of the league.
