In pre match interview Revs said next week could be hectic and intimated we could get clubs coming in for some of ours, Kemp & White ? Also said we don't just want anyone coming in, agree, but we get gazumped by clubs with bigger budgets for most targets.

If the offer is good enough sell.
Our success isn't built on Star individuals, we can't afford the best of the best. But we can always build a competitive team to stay in League One if we have reasonable funds available.
I.e. selling our best players won't stop us from winning the league, because we are never going to win it anyway. And it won't send us down.

Good thing Kemp on contract to 28 so would get bigger gre but not sure about White out of contract June ? Think at least Goode is too.

On current form Goode would be by far the biggest loss. Doherty is surely in the shop window, and I imagine there will be plenty of interested parties watching our yoof take on CP.

We definitely need an attacking threat and with PW writing off our losses to date this season we may have a bit of money to spend. I just don't see where the goal threat is coming from right now and even if BGR hits a purple patch in the second half of the season (and he's due one) we need a second that can start banging them in as well.
No problems with the defence this season (as usual).

Almost like it's not the top end of the pitch that is the cause of our attacking issues...

Agreed.
These are some of the "attacking threats" we have signed or loaned in over the past couple or so years -
Josh Marsh, David Amoo, Vadaine Oliver, Harry Anderson, Brandon Hanlon, Aaron Pressley, Ken Aboh, Louis Appere, Jake Young, Tyreece Simpson, Jovan Malcolm, Bez Lubala, Gassan Ahadme.
I've lost count of all the goals they have scored.

I think we need a creative midfielder more than a striker, particularly if White goes. On the Not the Top 20 podcast they mentioned that we've created the fewest number of chances in League 1 and, Ahadme at Reading aside, I don't remember our strikers missing too many 'big' chances, it's more that they're not getting much created for them.
Somebody who can give us a platform to move the ball forward and out wide quickly and more effectively might help, but I'm not sure whether we don't create much due to the way we set up, the players, the way other teams set up against us, or another reason...either way, finding good players in January is never easy so good luck to Revs, Leon and co.

So we've signed some pretty awful attacking threats... Do we pack up and stop signing anymore attacking threats?
A good defence can only carry you as far as a 0-0 without goals at the other end.

Yeah because we have racked up plenty of 0-0 draws haven't we, four 0-0 draws in just over a calendar year, keeping us consistently in our highest average league position ever and the equal second best goal difference in the league, dam all those horrendous 0-0 draws

not upset at all, don't build your part up, just frustrated with the drivel that people post on here about being crap and not scoring goals, the goal difference is what matters at the end of the day, and we have the 2nd best in the league, i find completely staggering that people moan about things when we are sitting 4th in the league, but hey that peoples prerogative as it is mine to moan back at them being as its on a public forum

I don't think it's okay to moan AT people. You are well within your right to put up a counter argument or a differing opinion but I think Stirling has made some valid points.
The fact we are punching above our weight doesn't remove any potential for criticism or negate our desire for improvement.
Yes, we should be grateful for the position the club and team are in (on and off-field), and we should take a longer term view on things...but it is fair to point out when a performance in a single game is not up to scratch.
As people have pointed out, teams will come and frustrate us at times, which Burton did pretty well. However, there were too many subpar performances from individuals and no attempt from the management team to change the system during the game.
We did look better for a spell when Harvey came on, but the first half was woeful, and at the point we went 2-1 up we should be doing more to manage that lead.
Now, I appreciate that we have a lack of options off the bench at the moment and we are struggling with some players being unavailable, but it is fair to highlight that our results/performances as a whole over a number of weeks haven't been up to the same standard as the start of the season and it is frustrating having come off a really good win at Stockport. Then again, inconsistency comes with the territory of being a L1 team operating on an average budget.

As I said I'm happy with how the season is going so far as a whole but I am not happy with our form over the last 9 games. That's all.
Anyway it's Christmas tomorrow so I'll cool down.
Have a Merry Christmas.

Regardless of sales I'd like a decent striker to help BGR. Plus, if we lose either / both White & Kemp, we must replace with quality, which is far easier said than done in January. For me the worse case scenario is we sell one of them, but not both. Wouldn't mind a young pacey central defender if there's one going (Unlikely)

We should buy that TVC fella. Imagine building a future CB pairing of him and Freestone when age catches up with Charlie and Carl.
I can see TAH wanting a move, loan or sale, which means we may need a backup goalie.
Think we might let 3 or 4 go out the door, Bez, Young and Gassan plus maybe Jovan, and replace with 1 decent attavking player.

Some of all of this could depend on injuries as well eg if say Kemp went any chance of Freeman around in period to end of season, he is still here even though not officially. In this context assume we will wait to post Xmas games to decide.

Get rid of 4 strikers and replace with one? A few injuries and you run of of bodies.
Apart from that, three of them are under contract and the fourth is on a season-long loan, so zero chance of that happening. I don't see the point of Bez. The other three all bring something to the squad (at least Young might if given more than five minutes). But they all seem to be behind Lubala in the pecking order.

Squad is oversized. We need quality over quantity, it's always a gamble with injuries.
I'm sure with Gassan injured we can send him back in January.
The others under contract we have option to sell, negotiate a termination or find a loan club that'll give them games and hopefully pay some of their wages. every player is under contract, its normal, they can still get moved on.

Sweens cannot be trusted at the back and is the best number 9 at the club, Westley would have figured this out months ago.

Why would we want to keep a player that runs at defences, carves up the oppositions rear guard, creating attacking options?
