What an excellent result that is, and the perfect way to bounce back from Saturday

A victory for positive football.
Plenty of good things about today:
Chem is much better on the right for me.
Phillips doesn't worry me as much with Houghton behind him and actually had a good game alongside Thompson.
Reid finally scored (bit lucky, but we'll take it)
Revs actually played to take the game to them and as a result we got a win. Could have gone either way, but so pleasing we took the risk.
You all know how much I dislike Sweeney but it is so nice to actually have a defender with some footballing ability on the ball. Thought he made a big difference today as we didn't always just hoof it back to them or out of play.

I don’t understand this criticism of Phillips. He’s not the most technical player but he never fails to give everything. I would pick him every game along with Houghton.
Personally I’m not enamoured by White - he does ok in certain situations but he is very lightweight, poor in the air, no pace & not great at distribution! It would be Houghton & Phillips for me with White on the bench.

Spot on with both White and Phillips

He doesn't track runners, which is absolutely criminal when you play deeper in midfield. With Houghton behind him it makes him a better player.

Phillips is quality.
Today he shielded the ball so well the opposition player had to jump on his back and Phillips won the free kick. Rock solid that guy. Today never stopped pressing and dispossessing. Tackling and intercepting. Sure he sometimes gives the ball away, but the rest of his game I love it.

That's the beauty of opinions....
White is an intelligent player who can see a forward pass and he's growing into the physical elements of L1 midfield.
Dan is a player I love, proper busy and physical, but he wanders, or his mind does, he doesn't track consistently and his decision-making makes us lose possession too often.

Aye, I am far from disliking or not rating Phillips, but for me White is clearly ahead of him most games (depending on match-up etc.), even if only for the fact he has contributed five goals for us already this season and usually looks like he can add more to that tally.
I absolutely love Houghton and Louis T, and am a big fan of White, especially this season, so ideally all three can fit into the team for me.
But almost every match this season you can look at the bench, or those missing, and realise how impressive our strength in depth is, for about the first time ever, it's wonderful.

Seeing the absolute beast of a press that Phillips was against Cardiff I can see why he's such an asset off the bench for us. He's a demon against tired legs, forcing the opposition into mistakes at the back while trying to play out. Great for shutting down our opponent or to hold onto a lead.
I would agree and say that White, Louis and Houghton are probably our best partnership at the moment. The trouble is how do you fit Kemp into that...?
Pidge + Goode
LJW, Houghton, White, Freestone
Louis T
Chem/Phoenix + Roberts
Reid?
We've seen results when we don't play wingers and have had Kemp + Roberts dropping narrow behind Reid, but we've recruited a fair few wide players this season.
The beauty is that we have excellent options with everyone fit, which I can't say we've really had before.

Been one of the first names on the team sheet for me since the day he joined. The guy is sheer quality. And then we added Houghton alongside him. Mental!

Today suited Phillips, County didn't look particularly well drilled or at it so that gives him the time to spot where the ball is and go for it. The teams who are bang on it can play around him.

Stockport were missing there two best midfielders apparently. Norwood and someone. So maybe that helped.

That was the bollocks. Went without our player of the season so far in Goode and got a maiden victory at Edgeley Park after shitting the bed there in consecutive seasons. Reidy scored a tap-in. No further notes.

Our most ever wins and points after 18 League One matches, and joint-fewest defeats. Our fewest ever goals conceded in both L1 and the FL.
Revs' biggest away win in charge.
Jamie Reid the first to 50 EFL goals for us.
The only shitter is Freestone and Phillips will both be suspended for next weekend.

Hopefully Kemp and/or White will be back. And we have Doherty so Dan P suspended is not a huge issue.
LB more of a challenge but I'd trust Louis T if Saxon wasn't able to start or do 90.
But he will probably get LJW to cross sides and play Jasper.
None of which really matters. What matters is that Balders is back in da house

So, I’m pleased to announce that I’d never doubted them and secretly felt before the game that 3 goals would be a likely outcome. And what goals they were! All of them an absolute credit to them (and Chem’s had me leaping off the sofa like an athlete) but that Tommo goal…! Brilliant work, lads, a cracking performance. Bring on Burton.

Massive 3 points after last week. Arguably result of the season to date. Keeps our momentum firmly in the playoff pack. Just such a shame we dropped so many points in recent weeks as it’s so tight for that second position still.
Cardiff were always favourites to go back up but I’d never have expected us to be a hot contender for no.2 still.
Good to see Reidy back scoring. I pray that that gets him firing again as the last few weeks have been dire up the attacking end.
