I doubt it considering Stevenage Borough Council are in £235M of debt.
Although that normally doesn’t stop councils from spending more.

Thats only a problem if you intend repaying it.
Otherwise keep borrowing a few more million each year to service the interest. EAW.

Most of our ground improvements have been funded by football grants or partially by the investment thing they done for the north stand, I remember The Wallet saying at one of his first fans forums "if there is a grant to be had i'll get it"

Yeah but the grants were from Footy improvement schemes run by FA as well as crowdfunding for the north not from public funds like Wrexham.

Whatever you think about their exploits in football and whether it should be allowed, they have been superb for the local Wrexham economy

TBF I think legally they might be legally obliged to do this but still weird rule and shows why we need to own our own ground

Given 90% of Stevenage Borough Council residents couldn't give a shit about the club and what bit adds to the community, I'm not surprised it's regarded as nothing more than a cash cow by the council.
In these times of tight council budgets, and badly run councils, it's not a vote winner to do the club any favours.

And yet you can bet politicians will be the first to celebrate if we do something special this season.

The club hasn't been doing anything to help out the council with social care since we sorted out our transfer policy.
