Whilst derbys are important for fans do they have any meaning for players who are internationals and have no local affilitations?

How many current first team players have affiliations or affinity to Stevenage and/or the surrounding local area?
Nick Freeman is the only one that comes to mind.

One of Pattenden or Patterson's family are quite local I believe.
Sure they mentioned as such during their interview after joining. Have a feeling it was Patterson, having been at Fleetwood. Or perhaps his point was just that they would be a lot closer than before now, and not necessarily that they would be very close now.
Edit: And it may have been his lass' family rather than his, actually.
