Orford

Just read that Carlton Cole who looks after West Ham loans is considering taking Lewis Orford back in January because of his lack of playing time.
I think we may have missed a good player here as he is very highly rated at West Ham.

Jack Jebb was highly rated at Arsenal. It doesn’t mean much.

A couple of bad results and people have resorted to waffle.
We can’t justify changing a winning team just because someone lazily called him the next Declan Rice once.

If he's worth giving game to, he'll play in the next few weeks. I presume he's been acclimatising to a more robust game in training. He did come on as sub vs Reading.
If he's not worth a spot in the team, then he can go back to West Ham...

Well, the counter arguments to his lack of playing time are:
1. League One is a very different kettle of fish to the PL U23s, but he can get kicked to kingdom come if West Ham want.
2. He hasn't shown or done enough to warrant more time.
EDIT: Also, being highly rated by West Ham is worth tuppence.

As cover. In theory an England Under-20 international should have something about him. Doesn’t mean he should walk straight into our team. Especially when we’re winning games and the players in his position are performing well.
If Louis hadn’t been injured we probably wouldn’t have signed Orford in the first place.

And Louis will likely be back competing for a spot when we next play, albeit on the bench initially.
So with Dan P and Louis T as our midfield subs, Orford likely won't even get a seat on the bus as the 'spare' sub

Phillips has been diabolical the past two games, though.
