I was just in the process of typing a comment asking why Marshall keeps getting picked in front of Taye...
Then that happens.
Sods law.

I actually think we've played pretty poorly tonight.
8 or so players off the pace.

But still won.
Another £10k, through to the next round with a game to spare, and 90 minutes for plenty of guys who needed it, plus no obvious injuries.
Shwme it wasn't as entertaining or ruthless as the Wimbledon game, but job done.

Hopefully put Palace kids to bed early doors in a fortnight and then can bring on the kids of our own to give them a run out and have a look at them.
Then revert to a strong team in the knockouts and see about winning the whole thing.

Job done. FWIW I'd have subbed Kemp back off after we went 2-1 up! He's getting better and better
Edit to say agree with Chuds that we should be trying to win this

Honestly we were due a bad game. In a nothing trophy with 12 days free after this. Perfect timing to get an off performance out of the way.

To be fair 5 or 6 of the starting XI have started league games for us this season haven't they?
The rotation has been pretty damn good so far.

May have but literally every player except White you would have a different player start if it was a league match and everyone was fit etc. edit: oh and Butler.

That's fair. It's just honestly great to see the gap between our second string and starters being so close.
2 - 1 as well so not too bad.

This cb pairing would not fill me with confidence in the league.
Saxon is not a cb and Sweeney is his usual mistake ridden self.
The positive is Pheonix is pretty much unplayable when he gets the ball at his feet.

It's the one area I think we need to reinforce in when January comes. Wish we still had TVC.
Going on current form who would people rather start on that left-hand side against Lincoln?
Chem or Phoenix.

Definitely Chem. He’s been excellent & getting better every game. I like Phoenix too but he’s a bit lightweight. As others have said, he’s a great option on the bench.

Is it?
We have Pidge, Goode, Freestone, Sweeney and then Luther if needed as our CB options. I wouldn't say we need any others, nor miss TvC.
Chem. Phoenix is better off the bench most games in L1.

I enjoyed his insistence on how hard Bromley are to beat throughout the whole thing.
Yet the Boro' second string didn't play well and still beat them.

Yep, commentating on his own, and on a match where little was happening. Doubt anybody on here would do much better, or be able to get the players correct on both sides etc.
Easy to slate everything though. That is life now. Pick holes in why everything is bad and what people are doing wrong rathet than noting what they are doing well. Thanks social media.

I felt like there was more silence than when you watch games on Sky with two commentators, but that the mixture of voices on the ‘proper’ TV comms makes it feel the other way round.

Could also be instructed to do so.
I recall complaining on here previously (back when we only had one camera for games) that our coverage was always too zoomed in, especially during corners, and was then called over outside the ground by the cameraman who told me he agrees but was instructed to do so by whoever the powers that be were at the time who the footage was provided for.

I enjoyed him questioning "what is football without a Stevenage cup run?" and referring to Shearer's goal, saying it never crossed the line.

"Everyone looks forward to seeing Stevenage in the cup, except Aston Villa fans" (something along those lines) was another good one he came out with.
Also on Ahadme "from the ridiculous to the sublime" when he scored.
It's not going to be like Super Sunday where you have a noisy crowd, a match commentator and two pundits all chipping it.
