Anyone know if there is any possibility we might see these two at any point , even in just the Pizza cup.Know the situation re Freeman, Thompson and Simpson but unless I missed it can't remember any updates on these.

I’m surprised Ben Thompson has dropped this far. He’s their best player by miles

They're in League 2 and mid table, about the right level for him.

Not too concerned about Saxon, now that we have Maldinstone at LB.

Young is in full training. Saxon is a long way off a return.

Apparently not then!
Am sure it was only a couple of weeks ago that Revs said so during one of his pre-match interviews.

Just had a look and you’re right - according to Neil’s newsletter, Revs said before Mansfield (11 Sep) that Sax and Freeman “are starting to up their rehab, still looking a bit of the way off”.

Missed that completely, so Freeman possible to be available in say new year ? Thought he got an ACL or similar March time so pretty impressive progress as normally much longer. On top of this assume Thompson should be around in near future.

Can't see Louis T or Dan P dislodging Harvey or Houghton as starters. And I'm a big Louis and Dan fan.
As for Lewis the WHU loanee... Vertu pizza cup if he's lucky.
Nice problem to have...

Impressive that he lasted the whole 90 then.
The joys of youth I suppose.

Interesting that according to Revs he wasn't expecting to have to play the full 90min.

Do you know what the problem is with Saxon? The last update I saw suggested he was almost ready to play again.
I'm actually looking forward to the game on Tuesday to see how the fringe players perform. A decent run in the EFL Cup is important in keeping the whole squad happy.

Same, as with the side who walloped Wimbledon.
Expecting Taye, Jasper, Sweeney, Butler, Phoenix, Doherty, Jovan and Gassan all to start.

I have been expecting it to be his first appearance, but not sure when he would need to report for international duty, so didn't include him.
He went off to report for that after signing for us, but before our first group match against Wimbledon, so expecting the same again this time, unless we can agree he reports slightly later so he can play.
