With the postponed matches next weekend, we will be the highest-placed team in the entire draw for the FA Cup First Round next Monday.
All those minnows be fearing drawing us ahead of Cardiff, Bolton, Luton etc. Hehe.

In all honesty much of the game was awful - the wind destroyed any chance of decent football.
Before we scored I felt we were struggling a bit. Thankfully Marshall made an excellent save at 0-0. After that we improved & scored 2 cracking goals. It should have been 3 when Reid missed a glorious chance!
Marschall was pretty much faultless today in difficult conditions. Goode was solid as always & I thought Sweeney did well which was a relief. Wildin & Freestone also had very good games with Luther winning some great tackles.
I also think Houghton is a much better player than he’s given credit for. He quietly goes about his business & is really effective at getting a foot in, linking up play & organising. People are raving about White but I felt a lot of the game passed him by.
Reid worked his socks off and, apart from the big miss, he battled well. The 2 wingers were also heavily involved - I really like Campbell & Lubala is settling in nicely. Kemp was a bit muscled out of the game but he is always a danger.
Our bench is so strong now - I honestly think we’ve got a chance in every game which is a lovely refreshing feeling!
All in all a fabulous result & it’s great to see Luton fans so quiet!

Great summary Lily.
While the football wasn't great, we had a *really* strong first half in awful conditions. Our strong players dealt with the wind much better than the Luton players, and that made a massive difference.
They did have a good spell at the start of the second half, and (excellent) Marschall's save was a key moment.
You're right to mention Chem. He played really well, and scored another super goal. What a squad we have!

Worst team I’ve seen this season.
Their fans were berating their players at full time

A lot of calls for the manager to be sacked on X. Be a nice tradition to bring back where each team sacks their manager after losing to Stevenage.

Harvey has been terrific all season. His development curve is very, very encouraging. Hit another lovely strike too! And he is *loving* interacting with the East haha
No coincidence he's improving playing alongside Houghton

It was a game made for Lewis Freestone today, and didn't he step up. Brilliant performance. (Kemp also; couldn't split them for MoM)

I’d brand Freestone as ‘immense’ today. He stood out for me. Or did he? Because as I say that, I also immediately feel that Luther rose to the role of captain and was even better than usual. The way he put his body on the line repeatedly, and his towering presence and instruction, right from the pre-match huddle, was noticeable and a joy to witness. But then who in defence was poor? None. Who in the Mid was poor? None. Who up front? Well, you see what I’m saying. In a team where I couldn’t really fault anyone, Freestone stood out.

Don't want to jinx things but if we stay at this sort of level, Luther could be with us for the most part of his career, which would be great. A stalwart and consistent player, not taken for granted but almost feels like you can just pick him and he'll do what's required without any fuss or attention needed.
He seems like he's found the ideal level for him and has a growing property investment business that fills up the rest of his time. Feels like he's found the right balance between his football ambition and business ambition, setting him up for when he retires from football.

Whilst it could be argued as being unfair to compare as they are all individual people/players, it also makes sense in many regards, and whilst discussed a number of times how Pidge is like Robbo in so many ways, as is Luther like Ronnie.
Both mostly RB but can play CB, both occasional captain (Ronnie actual captain for some time), both long-term servants racking up hundreds of games for us, and both give you a solid 7 or 8 out of 10 almost every game without fail. Put then on the teamsheet each week without needing to give it a second thought.

Maybe more obviously than any of our players, Luther has the ability to play up a level. Physical attributes, ball retention and attitude are first rate. It's been an absolute pleasure watching him develop over the years. Love it that he captained the team in Pidge's absence.
(We'll be getting offers, if we haven't already done so. He's consistently getting the better of some very capable wingers. In recent times I only recall Mason-Clark really having the beating of Luther.)

I don't think Ronnie was ever as ropey as Luther in his second and third seasons but arguably that makes Luther now even more impressive.
