I understand from someone in the know that he was briefly unconscious from the blow. I’m not sure what the protocols are but I doubt very much he’ll play

Revs also made reference to a thumb issue, albeit one that doesn't require surgery. So, a bit of a double hit it seems.

Not the replies I was hoping for . I’d be amazed if a thumb injury keeps him out and concussion , not sure of the protocol?

I can't entirely figure it out but the GRTP seems to indicate a 21 absence. I assume the training he's in right now isn't full contact.
Page 11 onwards is the return to play bit.

This seems to be guidance not rules but anyone with sense should adhere to it.

Guess it depends how broken the thumb is.
Yes they can strap it but not 'to' anything and they can't put a hard cast on. He needs to be able to throw himself into tacklea and grapple players without exacerbating it.
A finger injury may be OK but the thumb is key to pulling a shirt and holding players at corners, as well as softening a fall to the floor.
Could just amputate. Ashton would have bitten it off, spat it onto the sidelines and carried on.

He will be unable to grip primitive tools, putting him at risk of being out-competed for food by centre backs better adapted to their environment.

Pidge has been training. Revs said thumb didn't need an operation - a good sign. As mentioned by others, suspect concussion protocol could be more of a problem

Revs didn’t rule him out (although may not have wanted the opposition to be in the know). so being the warrior that he is (and always being the optimist) it wouldn’t surprise me me if he plays!
