As I was there again today, this is my take:
- We’re defending well & conceding very few shots on target. Goode was excellent today & his partnership with Piergianni is blossoming,
- Butler was also very good today following on from his MotM performance last week,
- First half was terrible. Midfield were completely bypassed & the service to the forwards was awful,
- Second half was better but the main thing is 3 points,
- I really like the look of the new keeper. He’s not perfect but claims high balls very well,
- Kemp is outstanding. I hope we can keep hold of him,
- The 2 wingers (Campbell & Patterson) both look real prospects,
- Ahamde was brilliant when he came on. He threw himself into everything & took his goal really well,
- I’m a Phillips fan. He’s great to bring on when defending a lead with his strength & attitude.
Absolutely ecstatic with the start to the season although I think we’ve been lucky with the fixture list so far!

Yes, a cracking start from Ahadme. I was concerned as the Charlton fans thought he was hopeless and were laughing at us on Facebook, but you couldn’t ask for a better start from him. Hopefully he keeps it up and prove the Charlton fans wrong.

Well pleased with that win

Not the prettiest game, but 3 points in the bag. Players dug deep to see it out.
List was good for them first half, but resorted to cheating in the second.
Onwards and upwards. Champions by February.

Stuck at it through the competitive first period. As usual, space opened up after the first goal and we started to pull them apart on the counter.
Credit to Pidge for his header which blocked a definite goal. Robbo also who again grabbed the game by the scruff in the second half.
Phoenix has some lovely feet and will start soon enough.
While like others I remain a big fan of Taye, I have to say that Filip is very impressive. Calm; takes pressure off by claiming crosses.
What a great, exciting start to the season!

Robbo had one contribution in that game. The second goal. Granted it's an important one but has to be doing something for the rest of the game to warrant a start. He was terrible otherwise. Phoenix came on and played 10 times better.

You were watching a different Roberts to the one the entire row I sit on was watching then!
Because what we saw was somebody who displayed zero interest in the entire game, other then for ten seconds in the build-up to the second goal. Up until then a total passenger who showed no interest in anything but moaning at the officials.

To quote the club’s twitter commentary of the match: “Jordan Roberts comes off to a standing ovation and is replaced by Jasper Pattenden. 🔁 (88')”
Sounds as though a lot of the crowd thought he had a good game!

Not at all, as firstly it was far from a "standing" ovation, except maybe from the terrace, and secondly they do that for every player who comes on/off when we are winning. Even Elliott List got one today for goodness sake!
Edit: But his opening two matches were more like the gpod version of the player he can be compared to today's the bad and frustrating version of the player he can be, so when he inevitably starts on Tuesday he will hopefully be back on it.

It is entirely possible that during today's match I may have made comment that he has got his new extension and will now do nothing all season, just like last year.

Vale got a 0-0 at Burton but had to play 75 mins with 10 men. Could be useful for us on Tuesday if they have a few extra tired legs.

I'm amazed we kept hold of Kemp in the summer. Probably the only one of our players that I feel could make the step up to The Championship.
Looks like we've put the Northampton curse behind us, maybe we'll even win at Exeter this season!
Would be incredible to win at Vale and go to Huddersfield having won 4 out of 4!

Distinctly poor first half by the sounds of it, low on quality from both teams.
But if you can come away convincing winners without playing well, you're doing something right.
A set piece that actually worked and a dream debut.
Someone take a photo of the table and hang it in the Louvre.
