Barring any injuries it'll be the same starting XI for our third league game in a row on Satdi then, because none of this lot has done anything to warrant a starting berth.
Revs was absolutely right to give them all a start though. I like this competition for the potential new ground element (if we didn't always draw Ipswich, Norwich and Reading), but there is no money in it.

Playing much better since the changes on the hour mark. More urgency. A bit of bite and some shape.
Shame we've just conceded a third.
Phoenix has caught my eye, especially late on. Confident. Could be a fan favourite.

One of the old Revs bugbears was the changes were too little, too late. Can’t be accused of that tonight and they changed the flow of the game. Didn’t influence the final result but as a sign of progress it’s positive.

I'm surprised he didn't make a couple of changes at HT given how flat and shapeless we were first half.
I was expecting Malcolm to be energetic and strong, he certainly covered a fair bit of ground but there was no coordination to the press so he was just wasting energy.
I'm not sure he won an aerial duel once, which I was surprised by having come from a more physical league

Completely agree that I expected changes at h/t but fair play to Revs for sticking with it and sending them back out 2nd half with a renewed vigour.
Also think it was almost more important to play some lads into fitness or form, so to give Malcolm best part of an hour (albeit it was always going to be difficult for him), Phoenix, Freestone, Jasper, Phillips and Sweeney all getting good minutes will benefit us going forward

Playing largely our reserve team against a Championship side definitely shows. Not sure how much of Charlton's team is first XI.

You say this every time he has a bad game. It’s getting boring.
Hes a young CM who has good games and bad games.

Sure, pick up on him having his worst ever game for us (for 30 mins) having taken a knock to the head inside the first minute!
Granted he was bloody awful and could have been hooked at any point in that first half hour, but he did end up growing into the game by half time and looked back to his usual self 2nd half (as a few have already noted).
Just hope he doesn't suffer from playing through a potential concussion. Not sure how good the independent assessments are at our level but something obviously wasn't right with him, perhaps just the bandage obstructing his vision?

He has been terrible tonight. But that's not what he is usually like. Lots of people commenting what wrong with Phillips, is he concussed, is he not fit etc. Because tonight's performance is abnormally bad.

Misjudged one header, but dealt with it eventually. Not done much else has he?
(Edit: I asked the question because I've kind of lost interest in the game now and not watching it properly now so may have missed things. Just scrolling on my phone with it on in the background.)

Nah, he hasn't done anything wrong.
Not remotely at fault for either goal, and that header aside hasn't done owt (right or wrong).
Conceding twice won't do anything for his confidence, mind. Nor will being dropped and only getting the odd match here and there, playing behind our second choice defensive line and a drunk or concussed holding midfielder who gifted away the opening goal.

His distribution has been shit, out of play every time, looks lost every time they get it anywhere near our box, got lucky with his poor headed clearance and lack of ability to claim the ball.
But apart from that he’s been great :)

We usually take a few to Charlton, nice summer evening pre and post match drinking opportunity, chance of a bit of an upset.
I'm guessing 350 -400
Chance ro see some of the new lads plus Sweeney, Freestone, TAH get a run out maybe.
