Never beaten
Views: 929
OK, seeing the Blackpool thread and the list of top tier teams we've won away at got me thinking...
How many teams have we played in the league, (L1 or 2) and yet never beaten, home or away?
I could trawl Boroguide but that'd be cheating.

Off the top of my head, Wolves, Birmingham City, Bolton?

Wolves is the one that immediately sprung to my mind

That was a great home match against Wolves.

All guesses.
From current League 1:
Bolton
Cardiff (never played them in the league)
Huddersfield
Reading (think we only have in the League/FA Cup)
Current League 2:
Bromley (haven't played them in EFL)
Current Championship (where 1+ regular League game played):
Birmingham
Bristol City
Preston
Sheffield United

Ha, forgot about sides going up and not just down!
We beat Sheffield United. Dani Lopez hattrick!

Didn’t he score a hatrick for Barnet the week before as well. Think that was a first

What a mystery that guy was. 15 appearances, one hat trick, one red card.

Oh, forgot about that! England's Harry Maguire at the heart of defence too.

I could get the answer to that in about two mins, but cba to fire up the laptop (will do later to confirm for us all), so...
Bolton, Huddersfield and Reading I don't believe we have beaten in the league, plus Cardiff and Bromley as we haven't played them (in the FL).
Cannot be arsed to think about sides we have played who are no longer in the FL.

Okay, checked my spreadsheet. There is only one side not mentioned in the thread.
The full list of sides we have played but not beaten in the EFL, with the number of matches played against them in brackets:
Aldershot (2)
Birmingham (2)
Bolton (6)
Bristol City (2)
Huddersfield (4)
PNE (6)
Reading (4)
Wolves (2)
In addition, we "only" beat Torquay in the playoff final, otherwise failed to beat them across two normal league games, and rather amusingly we have only beaten FGR once in ten matches in the EFL, losing six of them!

I would never have thought we'd played Preston 6 times. Still never been there.

Aldershot is a weird one since we played them a few times in NL.

I'm very surprised we haven't beaten Reading. I'd have put money on us turning them over once.
(Edit: cup memories)
I had an inkling on Huddersfield.

I thought maybe we beat Huddersfield at home in 2012 but it turns out we came from two down with an 88th minute Robbo equaliser, which is like a win.

I believe Shroot equalised that night! For some reason I remember it very vividly.
