I don't much like cabbages, or cooked fish for that matter, but I accept that some people think cabbages and cooked fish are great and simply move on with my life.

That's because you haven't got the Walkers. No Walkers no game!

Well done to the Lioness. Don’t bottle tournaments like the overpaid men

Oh, Jesus, really?
It's basically a different sport, don't be so silly.

From some of the replies it’s clearly not just me. Take the point that it’s kind of a different sport. Anyway I’m pleased that they won as I am whenever any team/individual wins when representing England in any sport. And I’m pleased for all those that do enjoy it and are currently in an elated mood. Sorry if that sounds patronising but I genuinely mean it. Doesn’t change the fact that I don’t enjoy watching it.

There's lots of stuff i don't enjoy watching. I don't feel the need to post on forums all the stuff I don't enjoy watching, not sure why people do with womens football

Take your point. I suppose it’s that normally I enjoy watching football and I’ve tried watching the women’s Euros but it’s not the same. Can’t really put my finger on why. With all the hype I wondered if it was just me. Anyway, I was just trying to to start a conversation as I thought that was what this place is for, although I appreciate it’s not Boro related.
Edit: And no, I wouldn’t post about all the stuff I don’t enjoy watching on TV, but this is football-related on a football forum.

I don't begrudge them victory. Fair play. What does annoy me is the constantly pedalled narrative that the women's game is great and we should all enjoy it and not criticise it. Take tonight's penalty shootout for example, although it wasn't as bad as the semi. Some of those spot-kicks were so f'ing dire that a 4 year-old could have saved them yet the commentators were screaming 'what an incredible save'

Got more bottle than the men's team.
Consecutive Euro Champions.
Find ways to win when not necessarily the best. Lot to be admired about that mentality even if the sport/quality isn't to your liking.

As a competition it's been bloody entertaining IMO.
And we won. Which is brilliant.
Unless you don't care. Like I don't care about cricket, so I don't watch it.

Sev... such a silly thing to say! 🤦🏻♂️
You may've noticed the Men don't play against the likes of Spain Women!

England men lost on penalties to Italy men. England men were the better side.
England Women beat Spain Women on penalties. Spain women were the better team (and world champions).
Ergo, men bottled it, women didn't.
You seem to be the one not comparing like for like.

You are not alone, I have not watched a single match, including this one, as it doesn't interest me in the slightest.

I watch the end of England's games sometimes. Mostly the finals. Like I didn't watch any of that Fifa Men's Club World Cup bar 10 minutes of two games.
