I watched MK Dons v Peterborough on Tuesday and neither team wore numbers (let alone names), apparently MK wiill be plain again tomorrow... weird.

It's so opposition for the upcoming season cannot gain as much information. These days they often use drone footage to spy on matches. By removing numbers the play becomes harder to make out. Similar principle to the dazzle ships of WW1.
Not putting on numbers is easier than crazy patterned shirts.

Would be weird during the season..
Pre season anything seems to go... I've watch a non non league team wear training kit during a match.

It's in the FA rules that numbers must be worn from kick-off.
It's in the EFL and PL rules i think that names must also be worn.
Guess these rules don't apply preseason?
*exemption for replacement shirt after kick off due to damage/blood contamination etc.
